Which Major 'Game of Thrones' Characters Won't Be in Season 5?

"Game of Thrones" fans are now well-used to saying goodbye to their favorite characters, but usually it's because they were killed off (we still miss you, Oberyn!). But in the case of three characters, they'll be missing from season 5 for an entirely different reason.



(Spoilers, obviously.)



In an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Kristian Nairn - who plays gentle giant Hodor - revealed he's not shooting any scenes this season on "Game of Thrones." The actor is currently touring as a DJ at dance parties called "Rave of Thrones."

"We're not actually in season five, by the way. We have a season off. We have a year's hiatus," he said.



By "we," he must mean Isaac Hempstead-Wright and Ellie Kendrick, who play Bran Stark and Meera Reed respectively. The last time viewers saw Bran, Hodor, and Meera, they were beyond the Wall and had finally found the Three-Eyed Raven (in the form of a wizened old man), who told Bran, "You'll never walk again. But you will fly."



What does that mean?! Well, guess we won't be finding out anytime soon. Nairn gave a simple explanation for why "Game of Thrones" is doing this to us.



"Solely because, I imagine, our storyline is up to the end of the books," he said. "So I get a year off now to do 'Rave of Thrones' and gallivant all over the world."



(Damn you, George R. R. Martin. Write faster!)



So no Hodor hodor-ing? Well, this is just Hodor-ous.

Benedict Cumberbatch Drunkenly Accepts an Award, Is Hilarious (VIDEO)

Benedict Cumberbatch is witty, charming, and dashing - even when he's totally drunk!



The actor was honored at the GQ Men of the Year Awards and admitted in his acceptance speech that he'd had a few drinks. But that didn't stop the tipsy Cumberbatch from giving a delightful, profanity-laden speech.



"I'd also like to thank James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, and Tom Hardy for not being available," he joked as he held his trophy.



Then Cumberbatch started drunkenly rambling about "motor drivers."



"What century am I from? I'm auditioning for 'Downton Abbey' or some such s---," he said, hastily adding, "Not that 'Downton Abbey' is s---." (That was especially funny since former "Downton" star Dan Stevens presented him with the award!)



We'd like to hang with Drunk Cumberbatch.

Aubrey Plaza on 'Life After Beth' and Playing a Zombie

We've gotta say, Aubrey Plaza really nailed this whole playing-a-zombie thing.



After the release of "Warm Bodies," we thought we'd seen the last of the "romance zombie movie" genre. Nope. Enter "Life After Beth," a charming dark comedy starring Plaza and Dane DeHaan, in which Plaza's character Beth dies and then is mysteriously resurrected. Hilarious hijinks ensue.



Moviefone Canada spoke with Plaza on a press stop in Toronto, and she spoke with us about how she channelled her zombie voice, and how she feels about stoves after carrying one around on her back for a big part of the movie.



"Life After Beth" opens in Toronto at The Royal on September 5. It will be available on VOD the same day.

'The Humbling' Trailer: Al Pacino Is a Washed-Up Old Actor (In the Movie, Not in Real Life)

Art sort of imitates life in "The Humbling," a small indie movie starring Al Pacino as an aimless washed-up actor.



Some critics are saying "The Humbling" and "Manglehorn" (both of which debuted at the Venice Film Festival) represent a comeback for Pacino. Judging by the new trailer for "The Humbling," he's at least going in the right direction.



Pacino bought the rights to the story, written by Philip Roth, and produced it himself. He plays an aging theater star who has "lost his appetite," as the actor told Deadline. He starts to get his mojo back when he romances a much younger lesbian (Greta Gerwig).



The sterling cast of "The Humbling" includes Dianne Wiest, Kyra Sedgwick, Charles Grodin, and Dan Hedaya. The movie has yet to get a release date.

Good Timing! George Clooney Directing Movie About Phone Hacking

The internet is abuzz about the latest phone hacking scandal, which leaked nude photos of celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence and Kirsten Dunst. So, it's very fortuitous timing on the part of George Clooney to direct a movie about that very subject.



According to The Hollywood Reporter, Clooney has signed up to helm an adaptation of the book "Hack Attack," about the 2011 phone hacking scandal that plagued Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation. Author Nick Davies dives into the company's practice of hacking into voicemails of British celebs and politicians to produce news scoops.



When the scandal came to light, it brought down the 168-year-old newspaper News of the World, provoked a government investigation, led to the arrests of multiple editors, and generally brought shame upon the billionaire Murdoch.



Journalism is a topic Clooney is passionate about; his father was a news broadcaster and in 2005, he received an Academy Award nomination for directing 2005's "Good Night and Good Luck" about TV journalist Edward R. Murrow.



"This has all the elements - lying, corruption, blackmail - at the highest levels of government by the biggest newspaper in London," said Clooney in a statement. "And the fact that it's true is the best part. Nick is a brave and stubborn reporter and we consider it an honor to put his book to film."



Clooney last directed this year's "Monuments Men."

'Good Wife' Teaser: Hello, Florrick, Agos, and Lockhart!

The past season "The Good Wife" was so sensational, how can the CBS drama possibly top itself?



By completely changing the game, again.



A new promo for season 6 of "The Good Wife" picks up where it left off - with Eli Gold (Alan Cumming) asking Alicia (Julianna Margulies) if she'll run for State's Attorney. "I'm never saying yes," she responds, but this is a man who can't take no for an answer.



The other major thread left dangling last spring was Diane Lockhart's (Christine Baranski) employment at the firm she founded. It seems Lockhart Gardner will no longer have either of its name partners, as Diane bolts for Alicia's firm.



Florrick, Agos & Lockhart has a nice ring to it!

What 'Monsters, Inc.' Directed By Ridley Scott Would Look Like

The best movie mashups involve two films with completely different tones - like "Fifty Shades of Frozen" or a Michael Bay version of "Up" - so that's why this new take on "Monsters, Inc." is so awesome.



YouTube user Ross Thompson of The Unusual Suspect created a trailer for the Pixar movie in the style of Ridley Scott's "Prometheus." It recasts the cuddly, feel-good film as a dark, ominous horror movie, with quick Scott-like cuts building mystery and tension.



Collecting screams, indeed.
