Denis Villeneuve's "Enemy" is dark, brooding and moody, and its haunting aesthetic sticks with you.
Leading man Jake Gyllenhaal is just as affecting, and in "Enemy" he takes on a double role, playing exact look-a-likes Adam and Anthony, who have no idea why they're identical. The movie, based on Jose Saramago's book "The Double," follows the two men as they try to understand why they look the same. The results aren't what you expect, and aren't really that easy to explain, either.
Moviefone Canada sat down with Gyllenhaal and Villeneuve -- the latter of whom just picked up a Canadian Screen Award for Best Direction for "Enemy" -- to talk about the darkness of the film, the infamous spider that appears in the movie, and whether it was tough for Gyllenhaal to keep the two guys separate.
"Enemy" opens in theatres on March 14, 2014.
