The cast of the Melissa McCarthy-Paul Feig spy comedy "Susan Cooper" is rounding out nicely, with Jude Law reportedly close to signing a deal to join the project.

TheWrap reports that Law will join McCarthy as the titular Cooper, as well as previously-cast supporting players Jason Statham and Rose Byrne. It's unclear exactly which roles Law, Statham, and Byrne will be playing, but the film has been described as sharing a similar tone to previous McCarthy-Feig collaboration "The Heat," so expect there to be lots of action mixed with lots of laughs.

Law's involvement in "Cooper" would mark his latest foray into comedy. He's also a star of the newest Wes Anderson feature, "Grand Budapest Hotel."

Feig is set to direct from a script that he wrote. Studio 20th Century Fox is hoping to turn "Cooper" into a James Bond-style franchise.

"Susan Cooper" is expected to hit theaters on May 22, 2015.
