When "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" opens this month, actor Ben Affleck will become the latest in a long line of actors to portray the Dark Knight on the big screen. We've seen all sorts of takes on Batman over the years, from live-action to animated -- some fared well, movie-wise. Others? Not so much.

We don't know how the new Batman will stack up to this legacy, but we can judge the Batman movies we have seen. We've ranked all nine theatrically-released Batman films from worst to best. Spoilers: "Batman & Robin" didn't win first place.
