At last, "Pan" has found its Peter.

Variety reports that director Joe Wright's Peter Pan origin story has cast Levi Miller, a young newcomer to film, in the title role.

Miller -- who's only acted in two short films and an episode of TV series "Terra Nova" -- landed the part after an extensive casting search that sought a fresh-faced 10- to 12-year-old boy for the role, which is said to be a complete re-imagining of the iconic character.

"Pan" follows Peter, an orphan during World War II who's kidnapped by pirates and brought to Neverland, where he must fight the pirate Blackbeard to save the land. In addition to Miller, the film stars Garrett Hedlund as a young, pre-villainous Captain Hook who befriends Peter, and Hugh Jackman, who's playing Blackbeard.

Rooney Mara is in talks to play Neverland native princess Tiger Lily.
