Steven Seagal went to Moscow last June with a few US diplomats after the Boston Marathon bombings, so naturally one news show sought out his opinion on the growing turmoil in Ukraine. RT, a news channel previously known as Russia Today, had Seagal and his impressive widow's peak on to discuss what's happening between Putin's Russia and Ukraine since President Viktor Yanukovych was ousted (for the second time) -- and what Obama and his office have done wrong.
"I hear a lot of political rhetoric, I hear a lot of political spinning, and I'm not in America hearing anything from the Russians at all, and that's not because they're not giving comments. I think that they're just not being heard," he says. It really must be seen to be believed, and hearing his sinus congestion, pronunciation of Ukraine, and use of the phrase "quote unquote" is pretty great, too. Also, the media is evil. Sorry.
This isn't the first time that the martial artist, law enforcement officer, actor, and director has had harsh words for the President. Speaking at the Western Conservative conference last month, Seagal declared, "If the truth about Benghazi were to come out now, I don't think that this man would make it through his term. I think he would be impeached." He also appeared on RT last November to discuss how Obama is manipulating the media and how awesome Putin is.
"Gosh, I want to be polite and say that I probably don't know [Putin] very well. I would like to think that I know him well, but suffice it to say that I know him well enough to know that he is one of the greatest world leaders, if not the greatest world leader, alive today," he told Oksana Boyko on the show World's Apart.
For the latest on the crisis in Ukraine and Crimea, stay tuned to Steven Seagal.
