Tracy Morgan's First Post-Crash Stand-Up Special Is Headed to Netflix

Pictures' 'Fist Fight' - ArrivalsAfter he was nearly killed in a car accident in 2014, Tracy Morgan has been slowly rebuilding his life and career, recently returning to acting and performing live. And now, the comedian has taped his first post-crash stand-up special, which is set to receive a splashy debut on Netflix.

The special, titled "Staying Alive," includes Morgan's reflections on his life following the accident, as well as his exploration of his career and mortality. Topics that will be explored in the special include Morgan's recovery from a brain injury, learning to walk again, and his relationship with his physical therapist.

Morgan was critically injured in 2014 when a semi truck slammed into his limousine, killing his friend and fellow comic James "Jimmy Mack" McNair. Morgan fell into a coma, and suffered numerous broken bones and other serious injuries.

The comedian eventually recovered, giving his first public interview in June 2015 on "Today," followed by an appearance at the Emmys, and a triumphant hosting stint on "Saturday Night Live" in October 2015. He has since gone on to resume acting and comedy full time, appearing in several films and TV shows and embarking on a stand-up tour. Morgan is next set to headline a TBS sitcom, created by Jordan Peele.

"Staying Alive" will hit Netflix on May 16.
