'Suicide Squad' Star Margot Robbie to Host 'SNL' Premiere
Margot Robbie stole the show in "Suicide Squad," and now we'll see if she can do the same on "Saturday Night Live."
When the long-running comedy show returns for its 42nd season, the Australian actress will be on hand to host, reports Variety. She is fresh off of playing the charming villainess Harley Quinn in "Suicide Squad," which also starred Will Smith, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, and more. While the film didn't get quite the response Warner Bros. had hoped for, Robbie won over fans and critics alike as the manipulative former psychiatrist.
In addition to "Suicide Squad," the actress has shown off her comedic side in films like "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot," alongside "SNL" alum Tina Fey. She has also starred in "The Legend of Tarzan" and "The Wolf of Wall Street." There should be more Harley Quinn in her future, too, namely in a possible "Suicide Squad" spinoff.
Robbie will be joined on "Saturday Night Live" by the Weeknd, who is serving as the musical guest, so it should be an all-around entertaining night. The upcoming season of "SNL" premieres on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 11:30 p.m. ET.
