The chief complaint is that the actress cast to play Britney, Natasha Bassett, looks nothing like the singer. And that's doubly true for the supporting actors playing the men in Britney's life: Kevin Federline (portrayed by Clayton Chitty, in probably the most accurate casting in movie), Justin Timberlake (Nathan Keyes), and the rest of *NSYNC (Frankie Cena as Chris Kirkpatrick, Connor Paton as Lance Bass, Matt Visser as Joey Fatone, and Zac Vran as JC Chasez). Check out some of the photos for yourself:
The various *NSYNC actors are especially egregious (Cena looks far more like fellow boy bander Trevor Penick of O-Town than anything resembling Chris Kirkpatrick), but really, all of the casting is pretty terrible. While Lifetime faced a similar backlash when it released the cast photos for its previous unauthorized movies about "Saved by the Bell" and "Full House," we think the cable net may have truly outdone itself this time in the Casting Actors That Look Nothing Like Their Real-Life Counterparts department.
Of course, Twitter had a field day with the photos, sharing some hilarious commentary on the images.

These first stills from the upcoming Britney Spears Lifetime biopic are, to be frank, a hate crime. http://pic.twitter.com/BkfyA3t9l5

I know Britney had some rough times, but the casting for her Lifetime movie is a travesty. http://pic.twitter.com/aoTALTR1t3

If Britney Spears survived 2007, somehow we'll make it through this first look at her Lifetime biopic https://t.co/icvmWPxeD0

We can't wait for the movie to actually premiere and see all of this glorious cheesiness in action. The flick, currently titled "Britney," is set to premiere on Lifetime sometime in 2017.
