Who should be the next star of "Doctor Who"? Leave it to a former Doctor to know the perfect candidate.
David Tennant, who played the time traveler from 2005-2010, told BBC Radio that his "Broadchurch" co-star Olivia Colman should be considered to replace Peter Capaldi, who recently announced he's departing the series.
"Olivia would clearly be a magnificent choice," he said. "If you have the right people telling the right stories then it's absolutely a possibility."
Colman recently won a Golden Globe for her supporting role in AMC's "The Night Manager." She's also won three BAFTA Awards and has received two Emmy nominations.
She would be the first woman to play the Doctor, but fan support has grown for the Time Lord to be a Time Lady. Also, "Broadchurch" creator Chris Chibnall is taking over showrunning duties on "Doctor Who" next year. No wonder British bookmakers have put the best odds on Colman.
