We all love huge cliffhangers, right? (Shut up, "Walking Dead" fans.) "Game of Thrones" only has two seasons left, with Season 7's seven episodes arriving this summer. Apparently those seven episodes will leave us hanging on the edge of our seats. Brace yourselves for Is Jon Snow Really Dead Part II!
Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) has become the official spokesperson for the show, and she teased Season 7 to Time Out London:
"It's just kind of tumbling now. We've come to the climax and it's rolling down to the end. It's exciting. I really felt like at the end of last season everything was set up for how it was going to end. Every character came to a little junction in their lives. Now we're all going to crash down together to however this show ends."
What else can we expect? "A huge cliffhanger," she laughs.
The last time GoT ended on what one could consider "a huge cliffhanger," Kit Harington and his hair were stalked for nearly a year so fans could rest assured that Jon Snow was not really that dead. The show probably has a different cliffhanger in mind this time, but we won't be shocked if Jon is involved again.
GoT Season 7 is meant to keep filming through February; the final Season 8 hasn't even been announced yet, because HBO said they are waiting for a final episode count from the showrunners. We're still expecting it to be six, or thereabouts, in keeping with the two final seasons being shorter-than-usual.
Maisie Williams said she and her fellow castmates don't know anything about the series end game, but she did confirm that if Arya makes it to Season 8 she is going to join the others who get matching tattoos. "'We're all waiting to see if we do make it. I was lucky enough to be in Season 1, even the pilot episode. If I do make it to Season 8 I will get it. It would be rude not to!"
"Game of Thrones" Season 7 premieres this summer on HBO. We are on standby for the first official trailer...
