Kevin Sorbo Joins 'Supergirl' Season 2 as Another Mysterious Villain

24th Annual Movieguide Awards Gala - ArrivalsOnly days after another fellow '90s TV star joined the cast of CW series "Supergirl," former "Hercules" star Kevin Sorbo has also been confirmed as a new addition to the ensemble.

In a statement, "Supergirl" executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that Sorbo would be the next big name to appear on the show.

"Since his days as Hercules, Kevin Sorbo has brought such a strong presence to the screen and we couldn't be more excited to have him join us on 'Supergirl,'" Kreisberg's statement said.

According to TVLine, Sorbo will be playing a villain during the latter half of the show's current second season, though no additional details were provided about the character. That's eerily similar to the announcement earlier this week that confirmed that Teri Hatcher (of '90s super-series "Lois & Clark" fame) would also be joining the cast, playing yet another mysterious villain who was set to become the season's Big Bad. At this point, it's unclear if the characters are connected, though we have a hunch that it's a strong possibility; you don't stunt cast two recognizable television stars without any plan to bring them together, after all.

No word yet on when Sorbo and Hatcher will make their first appearance on the program. "Supergirl" airs on Mondays on The CW.
