'Thor: Ragnarok' Cut Scene Confirming Valkyrie's Bisexuality

A scene from "Thor: Ragnarok" would've made Valkyrie the first openly bisexual character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — had it not ended up getting cut.

Star Tessa Thompson, who plays the fierce warrior, recently tweeted about playing Valkyrie as bisexual and referenced a comics storyline that paired her with Dr. Annabelle Riggs.

And in an interview with Rolling Stone, Thompson revealed that she pushed director Taika Waititi to shoot a brief glimpse of a woman leaving Valkyrie's bedroom. The scene had to be cut because it "distracted from the scene's vital exposition," the magazine explains.

"There were things that we talked about that we allowed to exist in the characterization, but maybe not be explicit in the film," Thompson said.

Still, the actress did everything she could to incorporate that aspect of Valkyrie into her performance.

"There's a great shot of me falling back from one of my sisters who's just been slain," Thompson said of the flashback in which Cate Blanchett's Goddess of Death kills Valkyrie's clan.

"In my mind, that was my lover."
