'Westworld' Season 2 Filming Interrupted After Actor's Medical Emergency

The "Westworld" family is hoping for a quick recovery for one of its own.

HBO shared on Thursday that one of the two filming units working on Season 2 of the hit show was temporarily suspended after an actor suffered a medical emergency. For the sake of the actor in question's privacy, the network didn't reveal the specifics of what happened to prompt the shutdown. We do know, however, that the emergency did not take place on set and that the person has a recurring role on "Westworld."

"Due to a medical emergency involving a performer in a recurring role on season 2 of 'Westworld,' filming on one of the two units has been temporarily suspended," the network told Deadline in a statement. "The cast member was not on set when this occurred, and out of respect for the performer's privacy, we have no additional details to share, other than that everyone at 'Westworld' sincerely hopes for a quick recovery."

It is hard to gauge the severity of what occurred, but we, too, hope the actor is doing well. In the meantime, the show's other production unit wasn't affected, so Season 2 progress is ongoing.

The sophomore season of "Westworld" is expected to premiere in spring 2018.
