Everything is not so awesome in "The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part" — but not for long.
The sequel picks up five years after the events of the 2014 hit. Bricksburg has been transformed into a post-apocalyptic wasteland by the arrival of Duplo invaders from outer space.
To defeat them, Emmet (Chris Pratt), Lucy (Elizabeth Banks), Batman (Will Arnett) and crew will have to journey to unexplored worlds, including a strange galaxy where everything is a musical, and meet strange new figures, like the shape-shifting Queen Watevra Wa-Nabi (Tiffany Haddish).
There's definitely a "Mad Max" vibe going on here, with Lucy stepping up to take charge in a very Furiosa way, but with the irreverent, fun tone of the first "LEGO" movie. Visual gags abound, as do jokes both corny and witty.
"The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part" opens in theaters February 9, 2019.
