Everyone pays attention to the end of Marvel movies. Even Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) was just saying she's curious to see how "Captain America: Civil War" ends -- and she's in the movie. Marvel endings set the stage for what's to come, and the most recent film -- "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" -- did just that by showing the new Avengers team: Cap and Black Widow preparing to train newbies War Machine, the Vision, Falcon, and Scarlet Witch.
However, as Collider just noted, this was not always the plan. At a Q&A to promote the new "Avengers" Blu-ray release, Marvel Studios's Jeremy Latcham said they had initially thought of ending the movie with shots of many new Marvel Cinematic Universe characters:
Captain Marvel is getting her own solo film, which arrives July 6, 2018. Marvel Studios president Feige added, in the Q&A, that they wanted the end scene to show that the newbies need to learn what it means to be a team, building up from scratch, and having someone like Captain Marvel in the mix would confuse that message. In really early development there was a notion of there'd be a ton of new people. And then it was like, 'Well we haven't really introduced them, we don't know where they're gonna come from,' and Joss [Whedon] kind of did not love that idea. It was an early discussion, and then that kind of became just Captain Marvel, and then that felt weird just to have one new person."
What do you think -- should they have included Captain Marvel and other characters in the end or do you like how they closed "Age of Ultron"?
