What's New on TV, Netflix, Digital, and DVD/Blu-ray This Week: September 28-October 4

At a loss for what to watch this week? From new DVDs and Blu-rays, to what's streaming on Netflix, we've got you covered.

New Video on Demand, Rental Streaming, and Digital Only

"Jurassic World"
Welcome to "Jurassic World" -- at least the Digital HD version, which is out October 1! The blockbuster "Jurassic Park" sequel, starring Chris Pratt, will be coming out on Blu-ray, DVD and On Demand on October 20.

"Kids vs Monsters"
Rich people have problems too -- in this case, their own children. A mysterious man offers an interesting proposition to help six rich parents deal with their intolerable kids: He has seven monsters who are dying to test out their skills. 1 house, 6 kids, 7 monsters. Who will be left standing in "Kid vs Monsters"? Malcolm McDowell, Lance Henriksen, Armand Assante, Richard Moll, and Francesca Eastwood star in the fantasy film, which is out on Digital HD and VOD on September 29.

"The Gallows"
Twenty years after the lead actor of a high school play accidentally dies during the show, students at the same school make the mistake of trying to honor him by resurrecting the play on the anniversary of his death. Bad idea! The high school horror film is out on Digital HD September 29, before the DVD/Blu-ray drop on October 13.

New on DVD and Blu-ray

"Avengers: Age of Ultron"
Avengers, assemble! "Age of Ultron" is already out on Digital HD, but it finally drops on DVD, Blu-ray and On Demand on October 2. The Blu-ray features include "From The Inside Out - Making Of The Avengers: Age Of Ultron," "The Infinite Six," "Global Adventure," audio commentary with director Joss Whedon, a gag reel, and deleted and extended scenes (including commentary from Whedon).

"Spy"
Paul Feig's hilarious "Spy" movie, starring Melissa McCarthy, Jason Statham, Rose Byrne and Jude Law, is out on DVD and Blu-ray September 29. The Blu-ray comes with a ton of special features, including an unrated cut, 3 redacted scenes, 15 classified alternate scenes, a top secret gag reel, an extra top secret behind-the-scenes gag reel, 8 behind-the-scenes featurettes, a commentary track, and a lot more.

"Outlander"
Ah lass, it's time to fall a wee bit in love with Sam Heughan's Jamie Fraser by watching all of "Outlander" Season 1. Caitriona Balfe stars as Claire Randall in Starz's adaptation of Diana Gabaldon's time-traveling romance novel. "Outlander: Season 1, Volume 2" drops September 29, when a specially curated Limited Collector's Edition will be released along with the Blu-ray and DVD. In addition to a ton of special features with the Blu-ray, the Limited Collector's Edition has exclusive collectible packaging with 3D art, a 32-page book with photographs, excerpts from the script, and an introduction from producer Ronald D. Moore.

New on Netflix

"Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom"
The amazing Idris Elba stars as South African hero Nelson Mandela in this 2013 biopic following Mandela's dramatic and inspiring life story. Catch it on Netflix starting September 29.

"Bones"
Season 10 of Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz's popular Fox drama hits Netflix September 29, which gives you just enough time to binge the heck out of those 22 episodes before Season 11 premieres on October 1. Watch fast!

"Agatha Christie's Poirot"
Find out what the funny little Belgian with the egg-shaped head brilliantly deduces this time when Series 12 of David Suchet's mystery series hits Netflix September 30.

TV Worth Watching

"The Daily Show With Trevor Noah" (Monday on Comedy Central at 11 p.m.)
No one can ever -- ever! -- replace Jon Stewart, but Trevor Noah is going to take his place behind the "Daily Show" desk starting September 28. Wish him luck.

"Saturday Night Live" (Saturday on NBC at 11:30 p.m.)
Miley Cyrus is the host and musical guest in the Season 41 premiere, which will also feature Jon Rudnitsky's debut as a new SNL cast member.

"The Good Wife" (Sunday on CBS at 9 p.m.)
Sunday, October 4 offers an embarrassment of riches for TV fans. There are three great premieres at 9 p.m. alone: "Homeland" on Showtime, "The Leftovers" on HBO, and "The Good Wife" on CBS. We're sticking with Alicia Florrick (Julianne Margulies) for live TV, and the rest can go on the DVR or On Demand. In "The Good Wife" Season 7 premiere, Margo Martindale shows up as a political strategist to help Peter (Chris Noth) with his presidential campaign, and that creates an interesting dynamic with Eli (Alan Cumming).
