The top stars of "Game of Thrones" won't be needing a loan from the Iron Bank anytime soon.
Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau signed deals that give them big pay raises for the final two seasons of the acclaimed HBO drama. According to the U.K.'s Daily Express, they'll each be making $2.5 million per episode in Season 7 and Season 8.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed last fall that the five stars (known as "Tier A" in the show's pay structure) would make $1.1 million per episode. The Express explains that the contracts include a complicated bonus structure around international syndication. The series is broadcast in more than 170 countries.
If the figure is accurate, the five actors would be the highest-paid in television history.
And it would seem it makes their characters — Tyrion Lannister, Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and Jaime Lannister — sure bets to live to Season 8.
