Did 'The Originals' Season 5 Spoil a Major Character Death in a Set Photo?

Oops. "The Originals" Season 5 will be the final season of the series, and an original character's death may have been spoiled by a photo from the writers room. If that death does happen as written ... somebody may get burned on set themselves.

The photo making the rounds was reportedly posted by a new producer, who then deleted it, but not before Twitter grabbed it and got mad about it. Check out the writing on the wall in the images below, showing a plan to kill Hayley Marshall (Phoebe Tonkin), mother of Hope Mikaelson, whose father is Klaus:


So now fans are tweeting to the producers, and also getting angry with each other, assuming that Hayley is being taken out to make room for the Klaroline storyline of Caroline and Klaus, even though there would be room for Hayley in that world, since she'll always be Hope's mother. It's also possible, as some fans have speculated, that Hayley wouldn't stay dead. This is a world of vampires and the supernatural, after all.

That's what many fans are really concerned about, but new intel came out yesterday through TVLine about Hayley's love life:


Question: Julie Plec mentioned in TVLine's Comic-Con interview that Hayley is getting a new man in The Originals' final season. Any more details? —Steve
Ausiello: I can't say for sure whether this is the man in question, but the show is currently casting the role of Declan, a "flirtatious" Irish chef with a hot temper to match his killer charm. Like most humans on the show, he starts out with no knowledge of New Orleans' supernatural shenanigans — until he's introduced to a famous vampire family by the woman he loves.

Whether this is the guy or not, at least Hayley will be getting a new man. Before she dies. If she dies.

Based on that writers room breakdown, it looks like the plan to burn Hayley may be for Episode 6, which is fairly early on, as opposed to a finale or pre-finale death. Fans shouldn't expect everyone to make it out of the series finale "alive," since that didn't happen on "The Vampire Diaries" either. But fans have every right to be upset by seeing those words, even if that storyline is scrapped or plays out in a different way than viewers now expect.

"The Originals" Season 5 will arrive in 2018.
