Adding a whole new character in reshoots? Why not? Randall Park, star of ABC's "Fresh Off the Boat," has joined DCEU's "Aquaman" as new character Dr. Steven Shin.
Director James Wan shared the news via Twitter yesterday.
So happy and fortunate to be finally working with this man, @parkrandall, on pickups. #DrShin pic.twitter.com/q95PFEUSC2

According to the "Aquaman" Wiki, Shin "helped a young Aquaman develop his powers, but would later grow obsessed with finding out where the lost city of Atlantis was located."
The WB superhero movie, which stars Jason Momoa as the title character, is set for a December 21, 2018 release date. That's after being bumped from July 27 and then to October 5, 2018.
Wan revealed that filming underwater (or pretending to film underwater) has been tough: "It's a very technically challenging shoot to be on," he told THR in August 2017. "Working with water, and even the dry-for-wet sequences are very complex."
He addressed the rumors about the film's delay last month, saying he was still tweaking the film," I am simply not ready yet to share. This movie is filled to the gills with VFX, and the process is as slow and laborious as a sea-slug! Yes, even shots for the trailers take forever to do, and I refuse to put out anything that might be construed as sub-par." He added that he and his cast and crew were "working non-stop below the waves."
Park is also appearing in "Ant-Man and the Wasp" (from rival Marvel) as Jimmy Woo. That's out July 6.
