Horror master John Carpenter isn't directing the latest "Halloween" film, but he is returning to score the latest entry in the franchise.
Producer Jason Blum confirmed the news on Twitter.

Carpenter's eerie electronic score for the first "Halloween" film in 1978 helped cement the film's status as a genre classic. Composers Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein admitted their nostalgic "Stranger Things" score was partly a nod to Carpenter.
In 2018's "Halloween" (directed by David Gordon Green), Jamie Lee Curtis returns as Laurie Strode to confront her homicidal, unkillable bother Michael Myers. She recently told Yahoo, "I've seen a trailer and I've seen some footage, and it's terrifying."
"Halloween" opens October 19. We can't wait.
