Terry Gilliam's 'The Man Who Killed Don Quixote' Trailer Is Totally Unreal

The impossible dream has come true.

Director Terry Gilliam began working on "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote," a loose interpretation of Miguel Cervante's classic novel way back in the late 1990s. It took him about two decades, a revolving door of financiers, numerous cast changes (Johnny Depp was once attached), and a couple of natural disasters —and one documentary, 2002's "Lost in La Mancha," that chronicled all the troubles — but the movie is done. It has a trailer. It exists.

Jonathan Pryce plays a crazy old man who believes he is actually Don Quixote. The idealistic dreamer becomes convinced that advertising executive Toby (Adam Driver) is Sancho Panza and they embark on a surreal journey jumping between the 21st and 17th centuries.

"The Man Who Killed Don Quixote" is expected to debut (barring any other acts of the gods, old or new) at the Cannes Film Festival.
