Marvel Has Its Movies Mapped Out Through 2028

How many sequels can you have for "Thor"? One man knows: producer and Marvel Cinematic Universe overlord Kevin Feige who has, over the past decade, almost single-handedly engineered the expansive, interconnected series of films linked to the popular stable of Marvel superheroes. In a lengthy Business Week profile of Marvel (and Feige), the producer let on just how far into the future he is looking to take the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In the article, Disney head Bob Iger concedes that they are unlikely to have the rights to popular franchises "X-Men" and "Spider-Man" revert back to Disney, although he is hopeful about the thousands of other Marvel characters that have yet to make it to the big screen. As the grand wizard of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (or MCU, as it's called), Feige knows exactly what characters are being earmarked for expansion. According to the article, "There's a map of films reaching far into the next decade on the wall of Feige's office."

But what's kind of shocking is just how far. "It's like looking through the Hubble telescope. You go, 'What's happening back there? I can sort of see it,' " Feige tells the magazine. "They printed out a new one recently that went to 2028." Of course, there must be some give and take. If "Guardians of the Galaxy" bombs, for instance, plans for sequels and potentially spin-offs will likely be scrapped. Although Marvel is so secretive that nobody knows if there are even any spin-offs or sequels planned (although Feige conceded in the same article that those films were, at least, a possibility). Although considering Marvel's track record, a flop at this point seems unlikely.

What potential Marvel movie are you most looking forward to? And what year, between now and 2028, do you think it'll get released?
