When asked what the toughest part about the new film is, Horn immediately says, "Casting." Horn went on: "We have a couple of things... I can't disclose what we thought."
When the interviewer asks if they start shooting in six weeks, Horn corrects him by stating that, "We're actually shooting some of it now. We're back against it." While the fact that they are already shooting is something of a surprise, Horn's somewhat frazzled nature isn't: this movie is coming out in Christmas 2015 and nobody knows who is in it or what it's even called. Chop chop!
Horn said that the screenplay was also a major sticking point. "It's also the screenplay... Where six left off, it's going to be 35 years ago by the time it comes out. So it's all about the screenplay. It has to be screenplay, screenplay, screenplay." When the interviewer asks if the screenplay isn't up to snuff, Horn says that it's solid. "It actually is now," Horn corrects the interviewer. Oh. Well that's a relief.
"Star Wars: Episode VII" is scheduled to come out on December 18, 2015. Hopefully they'll have a cast by then.
