"Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" is the latest young adult adaptation hoping to capitalize on the built-in popularity of a book and its author. While not all YA adaptations have hit the mark (sorry, "Vampire Academy," "Percy Jackson," and "Mortal Instruments" fans), there have been plenty of page-to-screen movies to earn the book fandom's respect and prompt moviegoers to turn into readers.
