"Fargo" is still open to visitors: A fourth season of the Noah Hawley anthology drama is in the works!
"'Fargo' is not gone," FX boss John Landgraf told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour.
He added, "Noah Hawley — who's become quite a busy bee, not only with 'Legion,' but he's got a pretty substantial career as a novelist and feature career coming up as a writer/director — has told us that he has an idea which excites me enormously for a fourth cycle of 'Fargo.' The plan is to have that ready for 2019. The anticipation there's going to be another cycle of Fargo in 2019."
All three seasons of "Fargo" have told different stories in varying time periods. Season 3 focused on twin brothers played by Ewan McGregor, who become involved a double murder case.
Hawley has been cagey about Season 4, though, because as Landgraf pointed out, he's got a lot on his plate. Season 2 of his superhero drama "Legion" goes into production this fall. He's signed on to direct 20th Century Fox's "Doctor Doom" movie. He's writing and possibly directing an adaptation of his novel "Before the Fall," as well as the Reese Witherspoon astronaut movie "Pale Blue Dot." And he's working on an adaptation of Kurt Vonnegut's "Cat's Cradle" as a limited series for FX.
