Fans have their sleuthing hats on for TVLine's new blind item teasing an "unlikely" upcoming pregnancy.
Here are the details (the pic above is just a stock photo, don't read into it):
"Rumor has it a wildly popular, Emmy-winning series on a premium cable network is plotting a pregnancy twist that promises to be... surprising is an understatement. The plan — which, as always, is subject to change — is for the character's baby bump to be unveiled when the show in question makes its anticipated return in (ugh) 2019.
Suffice it to say that the unlikely pregnancy will have more than a few implications, both dramatic and darkly comedic. Oh, and you'll probably make an immediate assumption about the identity of the baby daddy. But you know what they say about people who assume, right?"
Many fans quickly guessed "Game of Thrones," but it's probably not GoT. For one, the final GoT scripts were done a long time ago and they started filming the premiere back in October. There's no "plotting" or "subject to change."
For another, who on GoT would have a "darkly comedic" pregnancy that would be shocking? Cersei Lannister already announced her pregnancy last season, then lost the baby that would've been her fourth child with her own twin brother. Some fans think they mean Daenerys Targaryen, but that seems too obvious and not shocking or "darkly comedic." Also, if Sansa Stark were pregnant, and not with Ramsay Bolton as baby daddy -- if that's too obvious -- then who would be the father? Littlefinger?
GoT guesses don't seem to fit as shocking/darkly comedic, but we still hope they mean these two:
A "Big Little Lies" character could be pregnant before Season 2 shows up with *Meryl Streep* as Perry's mom. Maybe Nicole Kidman's character Celeste is pregnant, not with Perry's baby? Not sure how that would be shocking or darkly comedic, though. No one else would qualify as shocking either.
Here's guessing they really mean "Veep," with Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) pregnant in her 50s.
That would be surprising, and everything on "Veep" is darkly comedic. It would pit Selina against her daughter Catherine (again) and maybe Gary could be the father?
All of the guesses are for HBO shows, which may be a false trail of its own. If you want to join the speculation, check out TVLine's comments and place your own bets.
