The actor, who fans perhaps know better as his character Luke Dane, showed up in costume at one of the hundreds of Luke's Diner pop-ups that paid homage to the show. The lucky location was Beverly Hills' Comoncy Cafe, which drew a sizeable crowd for the Netflix-sponsored event. Patterson greeted fans, passed out free coffee, and -- best of all, at least for those of us only reading about it -- shared insight about the upcoming revival, "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life."
"All I can say is that Luke is Luke," Patterson said, according to Variety. "I think the reason why fans love him so much is because he doesn't change. He's kind of a rock that way, so fans are going to get more of that."
It turns out that wasn't quite all he could say, though; he also promised fans surprises.
"It's going to be something they really recognize, but there [are] going to be a lot of unexpected surprises for them," Patterson said. "Fans are going to be very surprised, and I think they're going to love it."
Netflix was kind enough to tweet a photo so those of us who missed out could experience the magic.
