Stephen Colbert to Go Uncensored in Live Election Night Special

CBS's "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" - Season OneElection Night will be hard on some people, but whatever the outcome, it'll be a good night for Stephen Colbert fans.

Showtime announced today that the "Late Show" host will bring his hilarious political satire and commentary to the premium network for a live, one-hour election special. The title is a mouthful -- "Stephen Colbert's Live Election Night Democracy's Series Finale: Who's Going to Clean Up This Sh*t?" -- but the concept is pretty simple: Colbert will react in real time to the election results.

The special will appeal to viewers "who want to see all the latest news, without actually having to watch the news," according to Showtime. As a bonus, Colbert's commentary won't be bleeped out like some of it would be on network television.

"It'll be all the political comedy you love from my CBS show, with all the swearing and nudity you love from Showtime," said Colbert in a press release.

Actual physical nudity seems unlikely, but we should get some emotional nakedness, so to speak. The comedian will speak to a variety of people about the election results, and there are bound to be some strong emotions. Tears of joy, tears of outrage -- we could see it all.

The special, which is being filmed at New York City's Ed Sullivan Theater, will also include remote segments and surprise guests. Are you bleeping ready for this?

The election special will air Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 11 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. PT.
