A Zany to the Max 'Animaniacs' Revival Is Coming to Hulu

The latest TV show set for a return is hitting our childhood nostalgia sweet spot: Animated series "Animaniacs" is set for a two-season revival on Hulu.

Steven Spielberg, who produced the original show, will return to executive produce the revival, which Hulu is billing as its first original scripted series aimed directly at family audiences. New episodes are slated to roll out sometime in 2020.

In the meantime, the entire original "Animaniacs" series -- which ran on The WB from 1993 through 1998 -- is available now on the streaming service, as are its spinoff shows "Pinky and the Brain" and "Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain," as well as the "Tiny Toon Adventures" series. "Animaniacs" followed the zany to the max antics of the Warner Brothers and Sister Yakko, Wakko, and Dot, and was a hit with audiences of all ages, becoming a beloved cartoon and nabbing eight Daytime Emmys throughout its original run.

""I am so pleased and proud that 'Animaniacs' will have a home at Hulu," said Spielberg in a statement. "Together with Warner Bros., we look to bring new audiences and longtime fans into this wild world of Yakko, Wakko and Dot."

We're looking forward to it, too. And we'll be humming the show's insanely catchy theme song for the rest of the day.
