Warning: "Stranger Things" spoilers ahead.
David Harbour loves his character's arc in "Stranger Things" Season 1 -- how fans tend to dislike Chief Jim Hopper for the first few episodes, then love him so much they threaten to sue Netflix if he's killed off. However, he does not love how fans blame Chief Hopper for blowing off Barb's (Shannon Purser) disappearance and only focusing on the search for Will Byers (Noah Schnapp).
Harbour was just on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," and Fallon went on and on with gushing praise for the actor. But Fallon is also a big Barb supporter -- you may have seen his Barb revenge sketch -- and when he asked about Barb, Harbour was visibly (if half-jokingly) frustrated.
David Harbour: "The Internet rage over Barb! Like, Who knew? Shannon is amazing, but the character's in like two episodes -- barely -- and the Internet rage at Chief Hopper over not caring about Barb? I'm sorry! I had a little boy I had to save."
Fallon: "Will you attack that issue next season?"
Harbour: "Yeah, there will be justice for Barb."
Fallon stood and cheered. However...
Harbour: "But if you think Barb's coming back, she's fully dead. I'm sorry!"
Fallon said there's no way he could know for sure, adding the unforgivable pun: "I've seen stranger things..." Send him to the Upside-Down in Season 2!
Here's that interview, plus Harbour describing the Upside-Down in a tale from the set:
