'Game of Thrones': Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Teases Season 7 Developments

Premiere Of HBO's 'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 - ArrivalsThe Great Houses of Westeros have some unusual family dynamics, but none more so than House Lannister. Don't expect that to change when "Game of Thrones" Season 7 finally returns this summer.

Nikolaj Coster-Waldau recently discussed the upcoming season with The Daily Beast, and it sounds like his character will have his hands full now that his twin-slash-lover, Cersei (Lena Headey), has planted herself on the Iron Throne. That will have a huge impact on him because, as Coster-Waldau points out, "whatever his life is, it starts and ends with Cersei."

"He has to accommodate her," he told The Daily Beast. "He's done that his whole life, and he's reached a moment now where he suddenly has to address it."

What perhaps complicates things, at least from our perspective, is that Jaime seems to have developed more of a moral compass over the seasons while Cersei's has deteriorated. He has supported her unconditionally to this point, but that may ultimately change. Coster-Waldau possibly indicated as much when he said Jaime has to "address" his desire to appease her.

However their relationship progresses, it will continue to be convoluted. Coster-Waldau revealed that he had so many questions about it in Season 7 that the writers were probably ready to kill him off.

"It is very complex, and the more you dig into it, the more complex it gets," he said. "We're so deep into this story and getting into the endgame now so for all of us who have been on the whole journey, you really want to get it right."

At least that's some consolation for the fact that the show is taking forever to return. "Game of Thrones" Season 7 will at last premiere on July 16.
