The Han Solo Movie Might Be the Best 'Star Wars' Film, Says Woody Harrelson

'Wilson' New York Screening - ArrivalsThe untitled young Han Solo movie is still filming, but Woody Harrelson is confident that the finished product is going to top all of its Star Wars predecessors.

The actor, who plays Garris Shrike in the space Western, recently made his prediction to Collider. It's a bold statement, of course. The Star Wars trilogies, and now the series' spinoffs as well, have inspired a devoted, multi-generational fan base and raked in billions of dollars over the decades. Still, Harrelson has his reasons for believing what he does, so we should hear him out before getting too up in arms.

"Any movie's only as good as the director or in this case directors," he said. On top of that, he argued that none of the previous films had the same combination of "great actors, great directors, great script" (though he did concede that they have had "a lot of great stuff").

"I really feel like we're gonna make the best one," he told Collider.

The project does certainly have impressive players involved. Harrelson stars alongside Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Joonas Suotamo. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are directing, and the script was penned by father-son writers Lawrence and Jon Kasden.

In spite of all that, it's still a big statement. While we love Harrelson's confidence, we're going to have to see a movie that backs it up before we get too excited. We'd love to see him proven right, though.
