Watch Kristen Bell and James Corden's Duet Fail to Get Off the Ground

Love lifts us up, but stage wires don't always do such a good job of it.

Kristen Bell and James Corden recently teamed up to perform the duet "Up Where We Belong" on "The Late Late Show," and their performance was full of some interesting aerial "issues." As they sang the hit originally recorded by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes, they were both suspended in the air, but the coordination needed some work. Instead of hanging at the same level, they constantly passed by one another, grumbling about the problems as they went.

Corden described it as an "absolute disaster," but it actually made for a pretty cute and comedic performance. The song has been performed plenty of times before, but this is definitely the first time we've heard the singers complaining between verses and watched them try to grab onto each other in midair.

Watch their full duet below.

"The Late Late Show with James Corden" airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. ET/PT.
