Emilia Clarke Already Shot Dany's Final 'Game of Thrones' Moment: 'It F*cked Me Up'

The final season of "Game of Thrones" is still filming, but the final scene for Daenerys Targaryen -- Mother of Dragons, Breaker of Chains, etc. -- has already been shot.

That's not to say Emilia Clarke is done on set, since they film scenes out of order. But it's jarring to think that the final moment for Dany has already happened. It was jarring for Clarke, too, and ... well, maybe we're reading into things, but it sounds like DTarg might not have the best ending.

Here's that part of her new expansive Vanity Fair cover story:

"There's still a lot of filming and post-production work to be done, but Clarke has already shot her character's final on-screen moments. 'It f*cked me up,' she says. 'Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavor in someone's mouth of what Daenerys is...'"

Lasting flavor. What Daenerys is. Do they make Dany more of a villain instead of one of the biggest heroes of the story since the first episode? Please say no.

The Vanity Fair piece hinted to more interesting Season 8 details. Here's another paragraph, with the end quote a standout:

"She's goofy," [showrunners] Weiss and Benioff confirm. "We have tried to let some of Emilia's humor and light seep into Daenerys whenever possible. Who says conquerors can't be funny?" A memorable Season Four conversation between Daenerys and her right-hand woman, Missandei, concerning a eunuch's "pillar and stones," for instance, is much more Clarke than Targaryen. Sadly, it's unclear how much space there will be in the show's climactic final season for bawdy, Clarke-ish humor. "I'm doing all this weird sh*t," Clarke says. "You'll know what I mean when you see it."

Weird sh*t. Getting worried now.

In good news, the piece confirmed that Season 8 had her filming with some costars for the very first time, including Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark). We're very much looking forward to the Stark sisters meeting the Mother of Dragons. She is dating their "brother," after all.

FIJI Water With The Cinema Society Host A Screening Of 'Solo: A Star Wars Story'Speaking of him, Clarke talks a lot about Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and their on-set dynamic, and the strangeness of their on-screen romance when she's best friends with his fiancée, Rose Leslie (Ygritte):

"Clarke has a teasing relationship with Harington. 'I'll tell him, 'Kit, stop being a dick—stop being so grumpy.' Like I would with my brother.' And as the two transition in these final seasons from real-life friends to partners in TV's biggest romance (albeit one complicated by incest), the ribbing has only increased. 'If you've known someone for six years, and they're best friends with your girlfriend, and you're best friends with them,' Harington says, 'there is something unnatural and strange about doing a love scene. We'll end up kissing and then we're just pissing ourselves with laughter because it's so ridiculous.'"

Read the full Vanity Fair profile for a lot more on GoT and her role in "Solo: A Star Wars Story." She admits she "struggled" with the character of Qi'ra "quite a lot," early in production.

"Game of Thrones" Season 8 only has six episodes, but they've been filming them since October 2017. Clarke previously hinted to not actually knowing how the whole series would end, whether because she was being evasive or maybe the showrunners kept the true ending a secret to avoid spoilers.

Fans are on standby for official GoT Season 9 photos and a trailer, as well as a premiere date on HBO beyond "2019." "Solo" opens in theaters this Friday, May 25.
