Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Set Wedding Date

Prince Harry & Meghan Markle Visit NottinghamMark your calendars: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be tying the knot on May 19, 2018.

The Palace issued the announcement via Twitter:

The big event will happen at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. We don't know the guest list yet, but we expect it to include political bigwigs and perhaps some of Markle's "Suits" costars.

It's a good bet that the wedding will be televised, as was Prince William's wedding to Kate Middleton in 2011 and Prince Charles and Princess Diana's in 1981. An estimated 23 million U.S. viewers watched Prince William tie the knot and 17 million watched the royal wedding in 1981, according to Deadline.

And yes, Markle will become a British citizen, Kensington Palace said in a statement Tuesday. For a Royal to marry someone who is Catholic (like Markle) wasn't possible until 2015, when the Succession to the Crown Act went into effect, Time reports.

And who's paying for it all? As noted in the original engagement announcement, the Royal Family is footing the entire bill.
