There's more of "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" where it came from.
Director Rian Johnson's initial cut of the movie was three hours long, which means he trimmed quite a bit for the final version (two hours, 33 minutes). About 20 minutes of those deleted scenes will be included in the DVD/Blu-ray release, including an extended version of Finn (John Boyega), Rose (Kelly Marie Tran), and DJ (Benicio del Toro) sneaking aboard Snoke's ship.
"It's a full sequence of like stuff with them sneaking through this big office area of the Mega Destroyer and then having to fake out these Stormtroopers," Johnson told Collider. One of those stormtroopers was Tom Hardy, in a cameo.
There's also a bromantic scene between Finn and Poe (Oscar Isaac), and a major deleted sequence that takes place on the island between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Luke (Mark Hamill). It's "kind of an additional sort of trial/test that she goes through" and involves the Caretakers, the fish-nun creatures that inhabit the island. More fish nuns can't be a bad thing — hell, a spinoff like this idea sounds amazing:
A Star Wars prequel featuring a young exasperated Fish Nun in training sent to a far off planet to be a governess for the children of a widowed Republic captain, just as the New Order is rising to power... "The Sound of Water."
