Jennifer Lawrence is one of the most talented young actors in Hollywood, but there is one thing she wasn't good at: school.
In an interview with "60 Minutes," Lawrence revealed she dropped out of school at the age of 14.
"I dropped out of middle school. I don't technically have a GED or a diploma. I am self-educated," she said.
Traditional education didn't come easily to her. "I struggled through school, I never felt very smart," Lawrence explained.
But when she started reading scripts, something clicked for the star of "Red Sparrow."
"I I feel like I know exactly what it would look like if somebody felt that way. That was a whole part of my brain that I didn't even know existed. Something that I could be confident in. And I didn't want to let it go."
At 14, Lawrence was spotted by talent scouts who convinced her parents to audition for roles in L.A. That necessitated dropping out of her Louisville, Kentucky school and get home-schooled.
But she doesn't regret that decison.
"I really don't," she said. "I wanted to forge my own path. I found what I wanted to do and I didn't want anything getting in the way of it."from Moviefone News RSS Feed - Moviefone.com http://ift.tt/2F0v6nB
