Colin Trevorrow is returning to direct the third film in the "Jurassic World" trilogy.
Executive producer Steven Spielberg, who directed the first "Jurassic Park" movie, confirmed the news to Entertainment Weekly.
"Colin Trevorrow is going write and direct the third 'Jurassic World' story," Spielberg said.
Trevorrow co-wrote and directed the first movie, which followed up on the events of the original trilogy. He also co-wrote the upcoming second film, "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom," which was helmed by J.A. Bayona and opens in theaters June 22.
For the third movie, he'll team up with Emily Carmichael ("Pacific Rim: Uprising") on the script and re-take the director's chair.
"It's important to this franchise that we welcome new creative voices to keep our storytelling fresh and alive," Trevorrow told EW. "I'm thrilled with the tension and beauty J.A. has brought to 'Fallen Kingdom,' and I know Emily will add another layer of emotion to the concluding chapter of our trilogy."from Moviefone News RSS Feed - Moviefone.com https://ift.tt/2IgvJr7
