'Project Runway' Star Chris March Recovering After 'Debilitating Accident'

One of the most memorable and likable contestants in "Project Runway" history has suffered what friends and family have called a "debilitating accident." Now, those loved ones are asking for fans' emotional and financial support.

A GoFundMe campaign reveals that Chris March -- who starred on season four of the hit reality series, as well as the fourth season of "Project Runway All Stars" -- currently has a paralyzed right arm, limited use of his hands and legs, and respiratory issues, the result of an undisclosed accident that occurred in June of 2017. The episode required March to be placed in a medically-induced coma for several weeks.

"Thanks to the miracle of modern science he has pulled through, but is still in a very fragile state," the GoFundMe page states. " ... With skyrocketing medical bills, his health insurance has maxed out and he's in desperate need of continuous physical therapy in order to get back on track. Every day Chris keeps getting stronger, but he's got a long recovery road ahead. We are hoping to raise financial support for his medical bills and cover his expenses when he is released from the hospital."

March has remained one of "Project Runway"'s most high-profile alums, winning over legions of fans with his infectious giggle and warm personality, not to mention his over-the-top, awe-inspiring designs. The designer has dressed A-list clients like Meryl Streep (she wore his gowns to both the Golden Globes and Oscars in 2010), created a Halloween wig collection for Target in 2013 and 2014, and headlined his own Bravo reality series, "Mad Fashion," in 2011.

Here's hoping March gets all of the assistance he needs, and continues on his path to recovery. If you're in a position to do so, consider donating to his campaign -- which so far has raised just over $4,900 of its $100,000 goal -- here.
