Every season of "The Bachelor" has a drama queen, someone who's not there to make friends, and at least couple of sobbers, but this might be a first — one of Arie Luyendyk's contestants was listed as a missing person until recently.
Bekah Martinez, a 22-year-old nanny living in Los Angeles, was reported missing last November by her mother, who hadn't heard from her in several days. That was around the time that production on this season wrapped up.
Then, this week, the North Coast Journal published a story featuring 35 people on the California missing persons list and asked its readers if they could identify any of them. One such reader saw Bekah M. and pointed her out to authorities as a "Bachelor" contestant.
The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office compared her missing person's photo to her Instagram account, realized it was a match, and reached to Martinez, who confirmed she was, in fact, not missing.
Apparently, Bekah had gone to Humboldt County to work on a marijuana farm and was off the grid for nearly a week, which prompted her mother to file the missing person status. However, Bekah did contact her mother; she did not follow up with the sheriff, though, and only direct contact can remove someone from the list.
Bekah, who was already a bit notorious for a 14-year age gap with Arie, poked fun at the whole situation on Twitter:
MOM. how many times do I have to tell you I don't get cell service on The Bachelor?? https://t.co/iYnxQCIZBt

honestly the scariest thing about this story is that my efforts to conceal The Worst Drivers License Photo Of All Time have been thwarted https://t.co/z0venho66p
