Welp. Chandler Riggs may be fresh out of f*cks to give "The Walking Dead."
Spoilers ahead.
As you must know by now, Riggs' character, Carl Grimes, is halfway through dying. His death started in the Season 8 midseason finale and will continue in the Sunday, Feb. 25 midseason premiere. AMC recently shared the big new trailer to tease the second half of the season, going for the full waterworks when it comes to Carl's death.
Chandler Riggs was not expecting to leave the show at all, but he did ask spoiler sites not to spoil his death in advance because he was proud of his performance. He still cares about the show. But that doesn't mean he's immune to shade-throwing when it comes to the manner of Carl's death.
Riggs tweeted a series of "when..." tweets, throwing in one that mocked "The Walking Dead" for getting Carl this far only to kill him off in pretty ridiculous fashion:
when u spend like 3 years in the apocalypse but die bc you tripped and fell

when someone finds out my middle name is carlton and asks if that's where they got they got carl from

Fan response to the trip and fall tweet was mixed, but most appreciated the shots fired at TWD for writing Carl out like that.
And got bit by a walker...

No. It was bad writing that killed you, Carl. pic.twitter.com/g1a9VHDRXI

You just perfectly summed up why your death in the show is so stupid and unnecessary.

You can tell he is very upset but trying to make the most out of this. I applaud you!

The whole cast was shocked by the Carl storyline. Chandler Riggs explained that he had expected to stay on the show and had just bought a house in the area of filming. His father had posted a Facebook note blasting showrunner Scott M. Gimple and AMC.
Gimple was since dropped as showrunner, with Angela Kang taking over in Season 9, which should start filming this spring and premiere in October, as usual.
"The Walking Dead" Season 8 returns Sunday, Feb. 25 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
