'Game of Thrones' Fans Roast Theon With Hilarious Memes After 'Stormborn'

Theon Greyjoy proved he is the anti-Jon Snow in "Game of Thrones" Season 7, Episode 2 -- not great in a crisis, but exceptional for Twitter memes.

While Jon grabbed Littlefinger by the throat and told him to stay away from his sister Sansa, Theon was hardly the "protector" his own sister Yara needed from their uncle Euron. Euron got himself a big win in "Stormborn," and Theon seemed to regress to his Reek days -- self-preservation and survival above bravery and sacrifice. Theon jumping into the water to get away also contrast to Grey Worm's speech to Missandei about courage and "weakness"; both guys have, um, a lack of something in common, but when it comes to war and sacrifice, you can only count on Theon to jump ship.

Some fans defended Theon -- saying charging at Euron would've only killed Yara and himself -- or gave him the benefit of the doubt because of his past trauma. But most of Twitter went hard on him, taking some pretty hilarious shots, and expressing their disgust and disappointment in creative ways:

Honestly, though, what characters don't have PTSD on this show? It's not like Theon is the only one who has suffered. Jon Snow got stabbed to death by his own people and has almost died several other times in battles. Grey Worm and Varys also had their, um, manhoods taken away. Sansa was raped by Ramsay, tortured by Joffrey, and beat up by her own jealous aunt. Tyrion's family sentenced him to death for a crime he didn't commit, and was sold into slavery. Dany was sold as a slave bride and raped on her wedding night. Why does Theon get a special pass when the bar isn't lowered for others?

Anyway, this may be why Alfie Allen brought a cute puppy to Comic-Con over the weekend; he knew that scene was coming and wanted a win. We haven't given up on Theon, but now we have to hope that Yara finds some other way to save herself.

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 continues with Episode 3, "The Queen's Justice," on Sunday at 9 p.m. on HBO.
