New on Netflix: August 2017

The wait is nearly over for Marvel's "The Defenders": The crossover series that has Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Daredevil and Luke Cage teaming up debuts on Netflix on August 18.

Other Netflix originals premiering in August: The U.S. version of "Death Note," "Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later," and "White Gold," starring "Gossip Girl" alum Ed Westwick.

As for new movies on Netflix, strap in for the animated antics of "Sing," Michael Keaton in "The Founder," and Matthew McConaughey in "Gold."
