If you think the logistics of an "American Horror Story" crossover season sound tough, you'd be right.
Ryan Murphy, the creator of the FX anthology horror series, previously revealed that Season 7 wouldn't be the crossover one, which is good because it will give him more time to seamlessly tie together each installment. He recently opened up to Entertainment Weekly about his ideas, candidly discussing some of the challenges.
One major one is that he'll have to bring together numerous characters, including some played by the same actor.
"All of those characters will intertwine, which is confusing because some of them are from seasons 1 and 3," he told EW. "Like, Sarah Paulson will probably be playing 18 characters."
What he has established, though, is that the crossover season follow "a character from season 1 that will be thrust into the world that you are left with at the end of 'Coven,' which is sort of like the male/female/witch academy."
However he does it, it's bound to be interesting, just as all of the seasons of the show have been so far. "American Horror Story" has already earned renewals through Season 9. That means Murphy doesn't need all of his crossover answers now, but he may want to do the complicated season before he has even more characters to try to work in.
