Daisy Ridley Says 'No' to Playing Rey Beyond 'Star Wars: Episode IX,' But Also 'Maybe'

MEXICO-US-CINEMA-STAR WARS THE LAST JEDI-PRESSERThe mysteries of the Star Wars universe need time to unravel, so patient, we must be.

Although fans might wish Daisy Ridley would commit to playing Rey beyond "Star Wars: Episode IX," the actress has given contradictory responses when discussing her future in the franchise. Ridley chatted with Rolling Stone about the prospect of reprising her role beyond the current trilogy's conclusion, and she at first seemed very much opposed to the idea.

"I am really, really excited to do the third thing and round it out, because ultimately, what I was signing on to was three films," she told Rolling Stone. "So in my head, it's three films. I think it will feel like the right time to round it out."

That said, when asked about making more Star Wars films in 30 years, her "no" became less convincing. Her answer changed to "Who knows?" and even "sure. Maybe." That said, she is not at all confident we'll even be alive for the movie to be made.

"I honestly feel like the world may end in the next 30 years, so, if in 30 years we are not living underground in a series of interconnected cells ... then sure. Maybe," she said. "But again, it's like, who knows."

With so many conflicting comments in there, we won't even try to place our bets. We're going to have to wait and see.

For now, "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" hits theaters on Dec. 15.

Dwayne Johnson Embarrassed Himself When He First Met Robin Williams

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY Presents Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson at Stan Lee's Los Angeles Comic-Con on Saturda,, October 28, 2017Even The Rock has awkward moments.

Dwayne Johnson has been out promoting "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" ahead of its fast-approaching release date, and while he was speaking to EW, he got to talking about Robin Williams, who starred in the film's 1995 predecessor. It turns out that Johnson became a little tongue-tied when he first met the legendary comedian. After approaching Williams backstage at an event, he made of funny gaffe.

"I finally see him and catch his eye, and I'm like, 'Hey, I just want to say, you are my biggest fan,'" Johnson told EW.

It took an awkward pause for the younger actor to realize what he had said and to then correct himself.

"He just laughed and said, 'It's so good to meet you,' and gave me a big hug," Johnson said. "So that was it. I made an idiot out of myself when I first met Robin."

The mistake is an understandable one, considering what an influential star Williams was. In fact, his legacy is why they made sure to clarify early on that "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" is a continuation rather than a reboot.

"We cannot fill Robin Williams' shoes," Johnson said. "That's impossible to do."

"Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" opens Dec. 20.

Matt Lauer Addresses His NBC Firing: 'There Are No Words to Express My Sorrow'

The Rolling Stones celebrate the North American debut of Exhibitionism at Industria in the West Village - ArrivalsThe Matt Lauer era at NBC came to an abrupt end on Wednesday, and now the former "Today" anchor is speaking out.

Lauer issued a lengthy statement Thursday, addressing the alleged inappropriate sexual behavior that led to his firing. While Lauer wrote that not all of the claims are true, he did apologize for some past misdeeds. He also spoke of his sadness and remorse for the damage that he inflicted on "the people [he] hurt," including his family and NBC. Moving forward, he said that "repairing the damage" is now his full-time job.

Lauer's full statement reads:

There are no words to express my sorrow and regret for the pain I have caused others by words and actions. To the people I have hurt, I am truly sorry. As I am writing this I realize the depth of the damage and disappointment I have left behind at home and at NBC.

Some of what is being said about me is untrue or mischaracterized, but there is enough truth in these stories to make me feel embarrassed and ashamed. I regret that my shame is now shared by the people I cherish dearly.

Repairing the damage will take a lot of time and soul searching and I'm committed to beginning that effort. It is now my full time job. The last two days have forced me to take a very hard look at my own troubling flaws. It's been humbling. I am blessed to be surrounded by the people I love. I thank them for their patience and grace.

NBC News execs met with a female employee Monday evening after receiving her complaint, according to The New York Times. This prompted "serious review," Chairman Andrew Lack said in a statement on Wednesday. The findings led them to conclude that Lauer had violated the company's standards. Lack's statement also indicated that NBC News believed there may have been other incidents; in the wake of the news, additional allegations did indeed come to light.

The show has gone on without Lauer. His "Today" co-anchor Savannah Guthrie has continued to do her job, with fellow "Today" host Hoda Kobt taking over Lauer's chair for at least the time being.

First Photo of Jon Hamm in 'Good Omens' Is a 'Thing of Beauty'

Behold, Jon Hamm as the Angel Gabriel.

With the novel "Good Omens" being adapted for TV, fans have been begging author-cum-showrunner Neil Gaiman for a look at Hamm in character. On Thursday, Gaiman delivered, tweeting out an image of Hamm against a backdrop of what looks like a concrete wall. Hamm is dressed in light colors from head to toe, with a look of concern on his face.

Gaiman is clearly beyond thrilled with the actor in the role. He tweeted a worthy introduction to God's messenger, describing Hamm in character as Gabriel as "a thing of beauty, and a joy for ever."

He definitely looks sharp.

Along with Hamm, the stars of "Good Omens" include David Tennant, Michael Sheen, Anna Maxwell Martin, Josie Lawrence, and more. The project is currently in the works, and the six-part miniseries is expected to premiere in 2019. It will air on BBC Two in the U.K. and stream on Amazon Prime for U.S. viewers.

'Avengers: Infinity War' Trailer Breaks Record for Most Views in 24 Hours, Surprising No One

Everyone is talking about the trailer for Marvel's upcoming epic team-up flick "Avengers: Infinity War," which dropped on Wednesday and instantly ignited plenty of fan fervor -- both positive and negative. It should come as no surprise, then, that the popular promo clip has easily broken the record for most trailer views in a 24-hour period.

Marvel announced the achievement on Twitter, revealing that the clip had been viewed more than 230 million times since its debut. That easily bested the previous 24-hour champion, Stephen King horror flick "It," which scared up 197 million views in its first day of release earlier this year.

The insanely star-studded "Infinity War" trailer features just about every hero you can think of from the MCU (well, except for Hawkeye) coming together -- many of them for the first time -- to take down Thanos (Josh Brolin), who's collecting Infinity Stones in an attempt to take over the galaxy. There's plenty of Marvel's signature wit, with a hefty dose of some darker elements, too.

With all of the excitement that this trailer has generated, it seems safe to say that the next clip should be even more explosive. (Not to mention the likely ridiculous box office numbers the flick should pull in on its opening weekend.) Until then, check out the first clip again below.

"Avengers: Infinity War" opens on May 4, 2018.

Aaron Sorkin Wants to Revive 'The West Wing' With Sterling K. Brown, and We Need This to Happen

This Is Us - Season 2Sterling K. Brown is currently winning over legions of fans on NBC series "This Is Us," and one of them has the perfect next role lined up for the Emmy-winning actor.

None other than "West Wing" creator Aaron Sorkin is a big fan of Brown's work, so much so that he's already envisioned a scenario in which he'd revive his beloved political drama and make Brown the star. Sorkin revealed his plan in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, chatting about the possibility of one day bringing "The West Wing" back to life, like so many other television shows that have staged recent returns.

According to THR, NBC has extended Sorkin "a standing offer" to reboot the series, a possibility that the producer "considers on occasion." Here's how Sorkin says his "preferred scenario" for such a reboot would go:

Sterling K. Brown as the president, and there's some kind of jam, an emergency, a very delicate situation involving the threat of war or something, and [President] Bartlet [played by Martin Sheen], long since retired, is consulted in the way that Bill Clinton used to consult with Nixon.

We're completely on board with that plan, which would surely give both Brown and Sheen some excellent material to work with (not to mention excellent scene partners to play against). What Sorkin told THR is holding him back from pulling the trigger, though, is how exactly he would involve other beloved "West Wing" characters like Josh Lyman (Bradley Whitford) and C.J. Cregg (Allison Janney). Not to mention the fact that Brown is currently tied up with "This Is Us," a hit that NBC no doubt plans to keep on the air for as long as possible.

Still, we're super intrigued by this idea. We'll keep our fingers crossed that Sorkin can sort out those storylines and make this revival happen -- even if we have to wait a while.

Jason Momoa Says 'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Will be 'Greatest Thing Ever Aired on TV'

Premiere Of Warner Bros. Pictures' 'Justice League' - ArrivalsIt's going to be a while before fans get to see the final six episodes of HBO series "Game of Thrones," but one former star is promising that season eight will be worth the agonizing wait.

Jason Momoa, who played Dothraki king Drogo on season one of the hit fantasy show, chatted with Entertainment Weekly about a recent visit he paid to the "Thrones" set in Belfast, Ireland, where he was catching up with his pals in the cast and crew. According to the actor, his visit inadvertently revealed some spoilers about how the series wraps, and though he's disappointed he won't be surprised by certain developments, he teased that audiences should be thrilled by what's ahead.

"Just knowing how amazing this season is going to be -- it's going to be the greatest thing that's ever aired on TV," Momoa told EW. "It's going to be unbelievable. It's going to f— up a lot of people."

The actor also addressed the rumors that pop up seemingly every time he appears in an Instagram photo with his pal and former love interest, Emilia Clarke, suggesting he's somehow set to reprise his role as Drogo. That's not in the cards, according to Momoa.

"I just showed up to see [producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss] and I just happened to see people on set," the actor told EW. "I haven't been over there in a long time. You just want to see your friends and you end up make headlines going, 'Drogo's back!' and I'm like, 'He's dead! He can't come back, it wouldn't work.'"

This could very well be some elaborate misdirection (see: the unsurprising Jon Snow surprise revival) on Momoa's part, though with the recent Jon-Dany romance development, it would certainly be an awkward time for Drogo to return. Guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens.

There's no premiere date yet for "Game of Thrones" season eight, though it's likely to debut sometime in 2019. Stay tuned.

Jim Nabors, 'Gomer Pyle' and 'Andy Griffith Show' Actor, Dies at 87

Jim Nabors On 'Gomer Pyle, USMC'Jim Nabors, the actor who brought to life to lovable character Gomer Pyle on two CBS sitcoms, has died. He was 87.

Nabors, an Alabama native, began his career as a cabaret performer in Los Angeles when he was discovered by Andy Griffith, who approached Nabors to play a new character on his eponymous sitcom in 1962. Gomer, the dim-witter mechanic, was originally slated to appear on only one episode of "The Andy Griffith Show" during its third season, but proved so popular that he went on to star in 23 installments.

His character was eventually spun off onto his own show, "Gomer Pyle, USMC," which ran for five seasons on CBS and remained one of the network's most-watched series throughout its run. Nabors ultimately decided to retire the character to pursue other acting and singing endeavors, headlining his own variety show, "The Jim Nabors Hour," for two seasons. He briefly reprised his famous role in the "Andy Griffith" reunion special "Return to Mayberry" in 1986.

Though he mostly stuck to television, Nabors dabbled in film, appearing in flicks including "Take Her, She's Mine," "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas," "Stroker Ace," and "Cannonball Run II" (playing the cheekily named character Pvt. Homer Lyle). He released a platinum-selling album, "The Heart-Touching Magic of Jim Nabors," in 1980, and for many years sang "Back Home in Indiana" at the opening of the Indianapolis 500.

Nabors is survived by his longtime partner, Stan Cadwallader, whom he married in 2013 after nearly four decades together.

The New York Film Critics Circle met on Thursday to vote on honorees for the best films of 2017, selecting "Lady Bird" as the top picture of the year.

The flick, the directorial debut of writer-actress Greta Gerwig, has been riding a wave of good buzz lately, picking up early prizes from the National Board of Review, among other prestigious awards season accolades. 'Black Mirror' Fans Think They've Cracked Netflix's Season 4 Release Code

Expect some good news, very soon. It's "*imminent*"!

"Black Mirror," essentially a modern technology-based "Twilight Zone," is one of the best series of our time. Season 4 is showing up soon. How soon? Aha. Netflix had previously just said 2017, so we expected "Black Mirror" on the list of new shows coming in December 2017. It wasn't on the list. So was it pushed to 2018? *Or* are they getting cute and teasing out the release date, possibly dropping the six episodes as a surprise in the next week? Please?

We already know the six episode titles, all written by boss Charlie Brooker. We've also seen the star-studded cast list. Fans have decoded the current pattern of poster and trailer releases -- first, a poster is promoted online; the next day, they release the trailer.

They did it for Jodie Foster's "Arkangel" first, and as of today (Nov. 30) they're up to "Hang the DJ":

The "Hang the DJ" trailer should be coming tomorrow. Then there are only two posters/trailers left to tease -- for "Metalhead" and "USS Callister."

Maybe? Close?

Charlie Brooker tweeted that Season 4's release is "*imminent*" so we're hoping it just drops from the Internet sky as a Christmas gift in the next week or so.

'Avengers' Fans Assemble to Worship Bearded Captain America in 'Infinity War'

Sadly, Chris Evans killed off the beard after filming. RIP.

Marvel released the first "Avengers: Infinity War" trailer yesterday, to much acclaim. Yeah, Hawkeye and a few others were missing, but so many other characters were accounted for -- including Captain America/Steve Rogers. And his beard. And it was good.

Cap was left in a rough place at the end of "Captain America: Civil War," and he's returning -- just as Steve -- with a scruffy new look. Fans decided the new look was an improvement, especially appreciating the shot of Cap leading a slow-motion battle charge.

Other fans made reference to Henry Cavill's Superman mustache needing to be digitally removed from "Justice League":

At least fans are having fun, and they can keep enjoying the beard when "Infinity War" opens May 4, 2018.

However, Chris Evans is now clean-shaven. LaineyGossip shared a report on Chris Evans joining his fellow Avengers stars at a screening of "Wind River" to support Elizabeth Olsen and Jeremy Renner. Evans has short hair and no scruff at the screening.

Christian Bale Offered $100 Million to Return as Batman? Not So Fast

Holy Batfleck replacement rumors, Batman!

Warner Bros. has slammed a "categorically false" tabloid story suggesting Christian Bale was offered $100 million to return as The Caped Crusader.

The story in OK! quotes an unnamed "insider" who said "The Dark Knight" star was previously approached about playing Batman again a few years ago and turned it down. "Now they're making it virtually impossible for him to say no. A lot of names have been thrown around, but nobody else has been offered this kind of cash."

But it should be pretty easy to say no if it didn't happen. A spokesman for Warner Bros. told Gossip Cop the magazine's entire story was "categorically false." (Besides, Christian Bale isn't exactly ready to fit back in the Batsuit any time soon.)

Batman replacement rumors have been running rampant lately, after the general disappointment of "Justice League" and Ben Affleck saying he was looking for a graceful way to exit. Jake Gyllenhaal's name just got thrown in the mix for Matt Reeves' "The Batman" standalone movie, and we're OK with that idea.

Even though Christian Bale would almost certainly never even entertain the idea of returning as Batman, you can't blame anyone who wishes he would. His "Dark Knight" trilogy with director Christopher Nolan was a commercial and critical success. Maybe the next rumor will be that the studio offered Nolan two hundred meeellliion dollars to return.

Orlando Bloom Compares Emma Stone's 'Maniac' Photos to Legolas: 'Elf Stole My Look!'

Arrowverse Showrunner Andrew Kreisberg Officially Fired From The CW Shows

Never mind the "Crisis on Earth-X," there's an executive producer crisis to manage.

Andrew Kreisberg was a showrunner on "The Flash," "Supergirl," and "Arrow," also executive producing "Legends of Tomorrow," and "Vixen." He also had an overall deal with Warner Bros. Television Group, the studio that produces the shows. All of that is now gone. Kreisberg was officially fired, after 15 women and four men came forward with allegations of sexual harassment/misconduct by their boss.

2016 Summer TCA Tour - Day 16The studio shared a statement (via The Hollywood Reporter), outlining the plan forward from here:

"After a thorough investigation, Warner Bros. Television Group has terminated Andrew Kreisberg's employment, effective immediately. Greg Berlanti will assume additional responsibilities on both The Flash, where he will work closely with executive producer/co-showrunner Todd Helbing, and Supergirl, where he will work closely with executive producers/co-showrunners Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller. We remain committed to providing a safe working environment for our employees and everyone involved in our productions."

2016 Summer TCA Tour - Day 16Greg Berlanti and Berlanti Productions' head of television Sarah Schechter also shared a joint statement:

"Warner Bros. Television Group recently concluded its investigation into the allegations against Andrew Kreisberg. We encouraged and supported this investigation, we believe and support the individuals who came forward, and we agree with the studio's decision. Nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of all our colleagues — co-workers, crew and staff alike."

According to THR, production wasn't interrupted, and the top producers visited the Vancouver sites of the four live-action shows to talk to the casts, crews, and others about what happened.

After the allegations initially came out about Kreisberg, and the investigation was launched, The CW stars Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, and Emily Bett Rickards took to social media to support the people coming forward.

The CW just finished its four-way Supergirl/Arrow/Flash/Legends of Tomorrow crossover this past Monday and Tuesday.

You Can See 'Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle' in Theaters Before Its Official Release Date

Karen Gillan, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson star in JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE.The wait for "Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" has gotten shorter -- at least for some fans.

Ahead of the action flick's late December release, Amazon has lined up early showings for Prime members. The company announced Wednesday that it was selling tickets to screenings at 1,000-plus theaters nationwide. The events will be held on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. at select Regal, ArcLight Cinemas, and National Amusements theaters, and likely AMC Theaters, as well, according to Amazon.

Moviegoers will see the film 12 days early, which is exciting considering that it is expected to be a big box office draw this holiday season. The movie is a standalone sequel to 1995's "Jumanji" and puts a modern spin on it and the children's book the flick was based on. It stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan as a group teenagers stuck in the bodies of video game characters.

With its early showings, Amazon is both rewarding its Prime members and encouraging others to join. Each member is allowed to buy 10 tickets (while supplies last) to attend a nearby screening. Tickets for Amazon's Dec. 8 showings can be purchased online via Atom and IMDb.

"Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle" officially opens on Dec. 20.

'Game of Thrones' Star Liam Cunningham Calls Out HBO for Being Late With Season 8 Scripts

Premiere Of HBO's 'Game Of Thrones' Season 7 - ArrivalsSer Davos isn't afraid to call people out, and neither is Liam Cunningham, the actor who plays him.

The "Game of Thrones" star recently filmed a video for Rolling Stone in which he responded to fan theories, and while he was at it, he told viewers that "the bastards at HBO" didn't send him the Season 8 scripts on time.

"At this moment, the bastards at HBO have not sent me the scripts for the final season," Cunningham said. "They promised me the scripts earlier this week, but they haven't sent them."

We don't know whether Cunningham has since received them, but either way, that comment set the tone for the rest of the video. In it, the actor wasn't shy about sharing strong opinions, including his belief that Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) should be seen as a serial killer rather than a role model for young girls.

"A lot of young ladies are using her as a role model," he said. "In five, 10 years time, let's not examine where that may go."

Watch more below.

"Game of Thrones" Season 8 is expected to premiere in 2019.

Joe Keery's Favorite Part of 'Stranger Things' Season 2 Is Probably the Same as Yours

There was so much to like in "Stranger Things" Season 2, but perhaps nothing more so than the one relationship we didn't even know we wanted to see.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 spoilers ahead.

The episodes introduced a bromance for the ages when Steve (Joe Keery) and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) teamed up to deal with a stray pet-turned-monster situation. (Oh, Hawkins.) They soon bonded over baseball bats, bullies, and hair product, and before we knew it, their friendship was one of the most charming parts of Season 2. It even inspired tweets like the ones below.

Adorably, the two actors' onscreen friendship carries over into real life. While Keery appeared on "Megyn Kelly Today" on Wednesday, he indicated that he, too, loved their scenes together.

"That was probably one of my favorite parts of the season," Keery told Kelly of Steve and Dustin's friendship.

When Kelly then described it as "the thing that we never knew that we always wanted," Keery was quick to agree, saying he felt the same way.

Watch their exchange below, which also devotes ample time to his much-discussed hair.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 is available on Netflix.

'Suits' Planned Meghan Markle's Exit a Year Ago, As Her Royal Romance Was 'Burgeoning'

SUITS -- "Shame" Episode 709 -- Pictured: Meghan Markle as Rachel Zane -- (Photo by: Ian Watson/USA Network)The "Suits" writers have had a Meghan and Harry endgame in mind for quite a while now.

Although fans only got confirmation Tuesday that Meghan Markle is leaving the series in the wake of her engagement to Prince Harry, the show was prepared for that eventuality. "Suits" creator Aaron Korsh told the BBC's Radio 4 program "Today" that he and the writers saw the "burgeoning" relationship and proceeded as if she'd exit the series.

"We decided to take a gamble that these two people were in love and it was going to work out," he said.

Interestingly, it sounds like they didn't consult with Markle before making the call. Korsh said that he "didn't want to intrude," which was really very polite. Instead, they proceeded as if she'd leave, thinking it would be "easier to undo it" than it would be to lose her longstanding character, Rachel, without preparing for her exit.

"What we decided to do [was to] say, 'Look, I would rather have good things happen to Meghan in her life,'" Korsh said.

As we know now, those good things are indeed happening. Markle and Prince Harry are set to wed in May in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle -- with the enthusiastic blessing of her former "Suits" co-workers.

'Fear the Walking Dead' Adds 'Lost' Alum Maggie Grace to Season 4

Premiere Of The Weinstein Company's 'Wind River' - ArrivalsMaggie Grace is getting "Lost" in "Fear the Walking Dead."

The actress is joining the cast of AMC's hit spinoff of "The Walking Dead" as a series regular for Season 4. Details of her character have not been revealed yet.

She joins Jenna Elfman and Garret Dillahunt, who are also jumping on board the show, which is undergoing something of a reset. New showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg are taking over, some notable characters were killed off last season (including leading man Cliff Curtis' Travis), and the finale cliffhanger indicated the setting would change to Houston, Texas.

Earlier this week, "Talking Dead" revealed that Lennie James' Morgan is the crossover character that had been teased by producers. He finished filming the current eighth season of "Walking Dead" recently and immediately joined the "FTWD" production in Austin, Texas.

"Fear the Walking Dead" premieres sometime in 2018 on AMC.

'Mary Magdalene' Trailer: Rooney Mara Follows Joaquin Phoenix's Jesus

Rooney Mara finds Jesus in the first trailer for "Mary Magdalene."

The actress plays the titular woman who becomes a fervent follower of Jesus (Joaquin Phoenix) and later was present at his crucifixion and resurrection. The movie seems to focus on Mary breaking gender norms, with Jesus asking, "Why shouldn't she follow me?" when his other followers — like Paul (Chiwetel Ejiofor) seem to question her role among them.

And Mary herself pushes back against the whisperings by wondering, "Are we so different from men that you must teach us different things?"

It's unclear if the movie, directed by Garth Davis ("Lion"), addresses speculation that Jesus and Mary's relationship was romantic in nature. The trailer only shows Mary's unbending devotion, as she declares, "I'll be with you to the end."

"Mary Magdalene" opens in theaters March 30.

Meet Disney's Live-Action 'Mulan,' Chinese Actress Liu Yifei

'Hanson And The Beast' Beijing Press ConferenceDisney has found its next princess.

The live-action remake of "Mulan" has found its titular star: Chinese actress Liu Yifei (also known as Crystal Liu).

The search for the right actress took a year and spanned five continents. Casting directors saw over 1,000 ethnically Chinese candidates for the role, which requires martial arts skills and the ability to speak English.

Liu is a popular actress in China, after training at the Beijing Film Academy and breaking out in television dramas in the mid-2000s. She is fluent in English after living in Queens, New York for part of her youth. Liu appeared in 2008's "Forbidden Kingdom" opposite Jackie Chan and Jet Li, and recently in June's "The Chinese Widow" opposite Emile Hirsch.

In "Mulan," she'll take on the role of a girl who pretends to be a man so she can take her ill father's place when he's conscripted in the Chinese army. Directed by Niki Caro ("Whale Rider"), the movie doesn't have a firm release date, though reports indicate Disney is hoping it'll be ready in 2019.

'Avengers' Fans Salty Over 'Infinity War' Trailer's Hawkeye Snub

Jennifer Lawrence Explains Why She's Often 'Incredibly Rude' to Fans

ENTERTAINMENT-US-FILM-GOVERNORS AWARDS-ARRIVALSJennifer Lawrence is not really your BFF. She's "a huge a**hole."

That's her take on herself, anyway, when it comes to interacting with the fans who approach her when she's at a restaurant, or hanging out in a public place.

The topic came up during a Variety Studios Actors on Actors talk between Lawrence and Adam Sandler. Lawrence figured that, since Sandler is a comedian, he'd get more people approaching him because people just assume he's their best friend. Sandler said that's true, but Lawrence must get that too, since she's "famously light and approachable."

Lawrence thanked him for the compliment, then explained how she's not really that approachable:

"Once I enter a public place I become incredibly rude, I turn into a huge a**hole."

Sandler laughed. "You get icy?" She said yes. "That's kind of like my only way of defending myself."

She gave some examples:

"You know what sometimes I do? I go, 'It's my day off.' Like, if it's Sunday, I'm like, 'It's Sunday, I'm not working today.'"

"I'll see someone walking towards my table and just go ..."
"Or like, 'Can I have a selfie?' And I'm like, 'No!' That's like my only defense. One of my best friends is Amy Schumer. She's a comedian. I take my dog to the park all the time, Central Park. As soon as I meet her in the park, we're f*cked."

Lawrence said, one time a person passing in the park shouted that she loved Schumer's new movie, "Snatched," and Lawrence -- not even hearing what the woman said -- just automatically shouted, "Thank you so much!" She laughed that the woman must've thought she was so full of herself.

Watch the discussion:The trade-off of being famous, and paid well for popularity, is the occasional unwelcome interaction with well-meaning fans. (There are also the stalkers, which is a more serious separate issue.)

Fans don't own the celebrities they like, and Lawrence is not the first star to say she doesn't appreciate being interrupted while eating, or doing other regular-person stuff in public. But it's up to fans to decide if Lawrence's behavior is "incredibly rude" or not, and there's a debate in the video's comments. From here, she sounds like a brutally honest, authentic, relatable human being -- which is the main reason why she has so many fans wanting to meet her.

See Christopher Plummer as Kevin Spacey's Movie Replacement in New Trailer & Poster

Hot damn, that Ridley Scott works fast.

"All the Money in the World" was already done, and director Ridley Scott was just finalizing the music, when all of the allegations against Kevin Spacey came out. Spacey had completely transformed to play J. Paul Getty in the movie. But Scott told Entertainment Weekly, after thinking about it, he realized they couldn't go ahead with Spacey. "You can't tolerate any kind of behavior like that. And it will affect the film. We cannot let one person's action affect the good work of all these other people. It's that simple."

A flurry of phone calls to agents took place, and Scott flew to New York to meet with Christopher Plummer. Plummer and the original cast members -- including Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams -- gathered to reshoot scenes, with Plummer in Spacey's role as J. Paul Getty.

This was just a few weeks ago. All the while, Scott insisted he could make the film's December 22 release date. He's still confident -- even thrilled, it sounds from the EW interview -- that he can put it all together in time.

A new trailer just came out today, featuring Plummer, briefly, as Getty:Compare that to the previous trailer, released in September, featuring a heavily made-up Spacey:Plummer's Getty is also shown in a new character poster, via EW:

Plummer does seem to be a natural fit for this cold, rich patriarch role.

For the record, Scott said he and Spacey haven't talked about all of this. He said if Spacey had called him, he still would've replaced him, but they would've had a conversation before moving on.

"All the Money in the World" comes out December 22 in theaters.

Why Sammi Sweetheart Isn't Returning for 'Jersey Shore Family Vacation'

'Today' Anchor Matt Lauer Fired for Alleged 'Inappropriate Sexual Behavior'

After Matt Lauer was fired from "Today," "Somewhere Ann Curry" started trending.

Today was a big day in the morning show world. Over on ABC's "Good Morning America," they dropped the first "Avengers: Infinity War" trailer. But on NBC's "Today" show, Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb revealed that Matt Lauer had been fired after a complaint over his alleged "inappropriate sexual behavior."

NBC News chairman Andrew Lack had shared a memo with employees, saying the complaint against Lauer prompted a "serious review" and represented a "clear violation of our company's standards." Interestingly enough, Lack said it was the first such complaint filed against Lauer in 20 years, but there was "reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident."

Lauer's morning cohost Savannah Guthrie had the awkward job of explaining why Lauer wasn't there, reading off the full memo from Andrew Lack, then sharing her own thoughts:

"Hoda is here with me this morning because this is a sad morning at Today and NBC News. [...] For the moment all we can say is that we are heartbroken. I'm heartbroken for Matt. He is my dear, dear friend and my partner and he is beloved by many, many people here. And I'm heartbroken for the brave colleague who came forward to tell her story and any other women who have their own stories to tell."

Lauer was a very popular anchor, but he had his critics -- especially after he was the one who reportedly pushed out former coanchor Ann Curry. Wednesday morning, "Somewhere Ann Curry" has its own spot on Twitter's trending list, alongside "Mat Lauer," "Today Show," "Inappropriate Sexual Behavior," and all things "Avengers."

Matt Lauer had recently signed a $20 million contract in 2016 extending through 2018. He just hosted NBC's annual coverage of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, but apparently that was his last time doing so.

USA Networks Confirms Meghan Markle Is Leaving 'Suits': 'It Has Been a Joy'

SUITS -- "Intent" Episode 415 -- Pictured: (l-r) Meghan Markle as Rachel Zane, Patrick J. Adams as Mike Ross -- (Photo by: Shane Mahood/USA Network)Meghan Markle's Rachel Zane is officially exiting after "Suits" Season 7.

There were rumors that Markle would leave the series, due to her relationship with Prince Harry. Yesterday, news of their engagement became official. Since she'll be living in the U.K., it seemed pretty clear she wouldn't also be flying back to tape "Suits." The USA Network made her departure official in a blog post, saying "the beloved 'Suits' star will depart from USA's legal drama at the end of season seven, which returns to the network in early 2018."

They also shared a statement from "Suits" co-producers USA Network and Universal Cable Productions:

"From all of us at USA Network and Universal Cable Productions, we want to send our most heartfelt congratulations to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on their engagement. Meghan has been a member of our family for seven years and it has been a joy to work with her. We want to thank her for her undeniable passion and dedication to Suits, and we wish her the very best."

After Markle's engagement was announced, her "Suits" costars shared their well-wishes, including Patrick J. Adams (Mike Ross), who is also rumored to be leaving at the end of Season 7.

"Suits" Season 7 returns in early 2018. It's not clear yet if there will be a Season 8.

'Grey's Anatomy' Season 14 Will Take a 'Hard Left Turn' With Jackson & Maggie

The future of Jaggie is literally up in the air at the moment.

The "Grey's Anatomy" Season 14 midseason finale left Maggie (Kelly McCreary) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) on a bloody dramatic helicopter ride, which may or may not connect to the future of their relationship storyline. Many fans were not happy when the Season 13 finale suggested the stepsiblings might become a couple. Jackson later called Maggie his "sister," but there still seems to be an attempt to push them together. Japril fans want Jackson to get back together with April (Sarah Drew), but April appears to be on her own path of self-discovery at the moment, leaving Jackson free.

Free to do what, in regard to Maggie? Well, James Pickens Jr. shared an intriguing tease on that front. He plays Richard, Maggie's father, who is married to Catherine, Jackson's mother. On the subject of Jaggie, here's what Pickens told TVLine:

"I don't want to divulge [too much], but I think [Shonda Rhimes is] setting it up to make a real hard left turn with this thing here."

A hard left turn? What would that even mean? Putting them together or pushing them apart? Maybe the relationship thing will be dropped entirely. In case you want to take this as a hint/warning, Pickens also emphasized that Jackson and Maggie are "not blood-related, so there's nothing incestuous about it. It's just that the dynamic is funny."

Kelly McCreary told TVLine Maggie and Jackson are still just getting to know each other, but she seems to think they have a chance. As she put it...

If Jackson and Maggie "can find a way to help each other be the best people and doctors and, in Jackson's case, parent, I think the audience will root for them."

Eh. It would be an uphill climb, but maybe. Better to just give Maggie a storyline *not* connected to someone else's love interest so she has a chance to develop her own loyal fan base.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 14 returns Thursday, January 18 at p.m. on ABC.

'The Last Jedi' Director Apologizes for the Rise of 'PorgNation': 'I'm So Sorry'

Porgs. They're everywhere. And Rian Johnson is sorry if you're already sick of them. (But he'll be riding that "sorry" all the way to the bank.)

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" comes out in just a few weeks, and fans already have strong feelings about Porgs. The new Ewoks? The new Jar Jar Binks? The new Chewbacca? Time will tell. But Twitter is already riding the Porg wave, giving the little guys their own Emojis, including on the hashtag #PorgNation.

Most fans seem to love Porgs, but Episode VIII director Johnson seems worried about overkill:

Johnson also replied to some fan posts:
The rest of Twitter had more fun with #PorgNation:

Maybe "The Rise of Porg Nation" can be part of Johnson's new "Star Wars" trilogy?

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" opens in theaters Friday, Dec. 15.

Armie Hammer's Privates Were Digitally Erased 'a Few Times' in 'Call Me By Your Name'

60th BFI London Film Festival - Free Fire PremiereTake THAT, Henry Cavill's mustache.

Armie Hammer's new film "Call Me By Your Name" is earning a lot of awards buzz, but it almost earned itself more than an R-rating. Hammer and director Luca Guadagnino talked about Hammer's, uh, wardrobe issues during a chat on Andy Cohen's radio show.

Cohen got straight to the point, asking if Hammer's balls were coming out of some of the short-shorts he wore.

Hammer: "There was a few times where they had to go back and digitally remove my balls from the movie."

Cohen asked if that was true, and director Guadagnino laughingly confirmed, "Yes."

Hammer: "They were short shorts — what are you gonna do?"

Guadagnino: "It's both things."

Cohen: "Short shorts and big balls is what you're saying? Wow."

Hammer: "My mom's going to love listening to this interview."

Cohen: "Armie Hammer has big balls is what you're saying.

Guadagnino: "No, no, I'm not saying it. I had to remove [them] digitally."

They joked that the balls were removed from the shorts, but then placed somewhere else in the movie.

Watch the clip (unless you're Armie Hammer's mother):Check out the full talk on Radio Andy this Thursday at 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. ET.

Armie Hammer's movie is now in select theaters, opening wider soon. He's everywhere himself, except Twitter, which he recently deleted.

Tom Holland & Chris Pratt Just Trolled Their 'Avengers: Infinity War' Costars So Perfectly

Evangeline Lilly Compares Post-'Avengers 4' MCU to 'Lost': 'Everything's About to Shift'

Big things are on the horizon for the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the upcoming release of "Infinity War," the two-part conclusion to the "Avengers" saga. The epic flick is set to assemble dozens of beloved characters, and launch a new chapter in the MCU, one whose future -- not to mention future timeline -- is murky at best. Bending the concept of time is something recent MCU addition Evangeline Lilly can relate to, with the Wasp actress comparing this seismic shift in the Marvel galaxy to another high-profile project from her past.

While chatting with Vanity Fair for its sprawling look at the MCU, Lilly touched upon some comments made by Disney CEO Bob Iger about the next set of films' plans to play around with space and time. The potential for the MCU to not just explore different worlds, but different timelines as well, sounded familiar to the "Lost" alum.

"When I heard about 'Infinity War' and the direction that they're heading, I did have this moment of realizing, oh, wow, there's a bit of a déjà vu for me with the 'Lost' franchise," Lilly said of the suggestion that the MCU will also feature "flash-forwards and flashbacks and flash-sideways," just like the late ABC sci-fi series. "We are hitting that ['Lost'] Season 4 space where everything's about to shift, and you're about to lose the solid ground underneath you. And ['Ant-Man and the Wasp'], of course, will play a part in that."

According to the actress, she and her "Ant-Man" cohorts seem especially well-equipped to play a key role in those unique time elements. Here's how Lilly explained it to Vanity Fair:

"Those characters are experts in the quantum realm. In 'Ant-Man and the Wasp,' they are trying everything in their power to safely enter the quantum realm and return back from it because they have evidence from the first film that Scott Lang was able to do that. If he can do it, why can't we? If we do succeed in 'Ant-Man and the Wasp,' then that does open a whole entire new multi-verse to enter into and play around in. I'm not the story creator, so I can't tell you what they're going to do with that. But I definitely see the potential there."

It's certainly an intriguing aspect of this new MCU, and like Lilly said, it suggests there's lots of potential for the storytelling ahead. Fans may be sad to see the Avengers go, but it sounds like there's plenty to be excited about, too.

Watch the Insanely Star-Studded Trailer for 'Drunk History' Season 5

Season five of Comedy Central's hilarious, booze-soaked show "Drunk History" is almost here, and to celebrate, the cable network has finally dropped the first trailer for the star-studded batch of new episodes.

As has become tradition for the series -- which features famous folks getting sloshed and recounting historical tales, which are then acted out word for slurred, drunken word by other celebs -- season five features an insanely stacked cast. The season premiere alone features some especially bold names, as revealed in this synopsis:

During the premiere episode Tiffany Haddish narrates museum curator Rose Valland's (Busy Philipps) risky quest to save Europe's masterpieces from the Nazis; Paget Brewster slurs her way through the story of Deborah Sampson (Evan Rachel Wood), the first woman to take a bullet for America during the Revolutionary War; and Amber Ruffin recalls the bravery of "The Angel of the Battlefield," Clara Barton (Mandy Moore), who founded the American Red Cross with the help of surgeon James Dunn (Alexander Skarsgård) and Abraham Lincoln (Jack McBrayer).

And that's just the tip of the iceberg. Here's a rundown of the other guest stars who will be playing historical folks:

Vanessa Bayer, Jillian Bell, Jack Black, Josh Charles, Rob Corddry, Kat Dennings, Kirsten Dunst, Eric Edelstein, Donald Faison, Kevin Farley, Rich Fulcher, Kimiko Glenn, Tony Hale, Colin Hanks, David Harbour, Brian Tyree Henry, John Michael Higgins, Vanessa Hudgens, O'Shea Jackson Jr., David Koechner, Johnny Knoxville, Jane Krakowski, Abbi Jacobson, Daryl Johnson, Alex Karpovsky, Taran Killam, Justin Long, Method Man, Jason Mantzoukas, Tatiana Maslany, Jayma Mays, Joel McHale, Sheaun McKinney, Jerry O'Connell, Keir O'Donnell, Bob Odenkirk, Randall Park, Jesse Plemons, Lauren Potter, Richard Riehle, Jason Ritter, Seth Rogen, Angus Sampson, Paul Scheer, Martin Starr, Ali Stroker, Raven Symoné, Jorma Taccone, Amber Tamblyn, Allison Tolman, Shannon Woodward, Jimmy O. Yang, and Weird Al Yankovic.

And here's who will be doing the narrating -- a.k.a., actually getting drunk -- this season:

Suzi Barrett, Steve Berg, Rachel Bloom, Shaun Diston, Rich Fulcher, Jon Gabrus, Mark Gagliardi, Solomon Georgio, Georgia Hardstark, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Daryl Johnson, Doug Jones, Lyric Lewis, Gabe Liedman, John Lutz, Tess Lynch, Allan McLeod, Kyle Mooney, Katie Nolan, Claudia O'Doherty, Randall Park, Jennie Pierson, Questlove, Alison Rich, Chris Romano, JD Ryznar, Carl Tart, Greg Tuculescu, Duncan Trussell, Brendon Walsh, Crissle West, Mae Whitman, and Jimmy O. Yang.

Like we said before: It's a pretty stacked ensemble. We can't wait to see everyone in action (and maybe enjoy a cocktail or two ourselves as we watch along).

Season five of "Drunk History" premieres on Comedy Central on January 23, 2018, and will air seven episodes before taking a brief hiatus. The remaining six episodes of the season will debut sometime later in 2018.
