Henry Cavill: 'Wonder Woman' Was the First Step in Correcting DCEU's 'Mistakes'

BRITAIN-ENTERTAINMENT-CINEMA-SUICIDE SQUADSuperman has a thoughtful take on the DC Extended Universe.

Henry Cavill helped launch the DCEU in director Zack Snyder's "Man of Steel," then "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." Those films were followed by director David Ayer's "Suicide Squad," also a commercial but not critical success.

"Even if Marvel didn't exist, we'd struggle," Henry Cavill said in a recent interview with Rake Magazine.

"There was a style they were going for, an attempt to be different and look at things from a slightly different perspective, which hasn't necessarily worked. Yes, it has made money but it has not been a critical success; it hasn't given everyone that sensation which superheroes should give the viewer."

But before anyone shoots him down as a DC hater, his comments were about the DCEU before director Patty Jenkins' "Wonder Woman." Since "Wonder Woman" just came out to commercial and critical success over the summer, it makes sense that Cavill would promote it as a fresh start for the future of the DCEU, which continues in just a few weeks with "Justice League."

As he continued to Rake:

"I think it is a wonderful time for the female hero. It is the perfect setting in social politics right now, we need it, we want that perspective, and 'Wonder Woman' has struck at the ideal time and has become a phenomenal success, which is fantastic. Any success within the superhero universe, especially within the DC Universe, is wonderful, because I want to keep telling the Superman story; selfishly, that works for me. [...]

I feel like now the right mistakes have been made and they haven't been pandered [to], and we can start telling the stories in the way they need to be told. It is even better to come back from a mistake or stylistic error into the correct vein because it will make it seem that much stronger. 'Wonder Woman' was the first step in the right direction."

Read more of the interview from this excerpt; apparently you have to get the hard copy of the magazine to read it, and this fan did:

Cavill's comments started a mini earthquake in the superhero fandom, which is always touchy about Marvel vs. DC even without a DC star commenting on their team's past "stylistic errors": "Justice League" opens in theaters Friday, Nov. 17.

'This Is Us' Removed a Kevin Spacey Reference From Halloween Episode

In a very quick editing job, Kevin Spacey was erased from "This Is Us" Season 2, Episode 6.

According to TVLine, Spacey was originally referenced in "The 20's," airing Tuesday, Oct. 31. The Halloween episode included a flashback to Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley) in 2008, with the struggling actor resentful of his roommate for booking a job on a movie with Kevin Spacey. NBC gave media a copy of the episode ahead of time, including that Spacey reference, but after the recent sexual misconduct allegations against Spacey, the line was removed from the airing on NBC. Presumably, the show didn't want to distract viewers with the unexpectedly timely reference.

Spacey has been in headlines this week after actor Anthony Rapp accused him of trying to "seduce" him in the mid-80s when Rapp was only 14-years-old. Spacey's apology statement didn't seem to help much and was roundly criticized. Spacey's "House of Cards" is currently filming Season 6, but Netflix has shut down production indefinitely. It was also revealed that Season 6 will be the final season of the show.

"This Is Us" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on NBC.

'Game of Thrones' Fans 'Shame' the Internet With Epic #GoTHalloween 2017 Photos

Halloween night is dark and full of terrors, and A Girl is impressed.

No one has more fun on Halloween than "Game of Thrones" fans. Several days before today's holiday, HBO sent a Twitter raven to remind fans to tag their Halloween photos with #GoTHalloween to share with the class:

Fans have been honoring the tradition with some fantastic costumes:

Well done, all!

This time next year, the final season of "Game of Thrones" will be finished filming. It's not clear yet when it will air on HBO. Probably not by this time next year, but -- if that's the case -- it just means we have one more #GoTHalloween to look forward to before The End. Or at least until the spinoffs air.

'Stranger Things' Season 3 Will Have Another Time Jump, and Deal With Puberty

And what's scarier than puberty?

"Stranger Things" Season 2 just dropped its nine episodes the weekend before Halloween, but may fans are already caught up and ready for more. Netflix will hopefully give us Season 3 this time next year, and The Powers That Be teased some of the big themes ahead.

Executive producer Shawn Levy told Collider Season 3 will probably take place a year after the events of the Season 2 finale, just like Season 2 picked up a year after Season 1. Why? Because the real-life cast is aging a year, too, and they want the show to reflect that reality. As Levy put it:

"Let's not embarrass ourselves or the audience by pretending these are kids. They're teenagers now."

The six main "kids" in the cast -- the four boys, plus Eleven and Max -- currently range in age from 13 to 16. Here's more from executive producer Dan Cohen to Collider:

"The passing of time in these kids' lives, and everyone's inner community, is part of the charm of the show, and [The Duffer Brothers] will continue to lean into that."

The Duffer Brothers stayed on the same wavelength when teasing the teens' future to Entertainment Weekly.

MINOR SEASON 2 SPOILER AHEAD

Here's Matt Duffer's puberty tease to EW:

"Even if we didn't want to deal with [puberty], we have to deal with it because our real-life actors are going through it. I think that's exciting because it forces the show to evolve and become something different every year.

It's going to test their friendships. Obviously, like Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Max (Sadie Sink) are together, but really, when you're that age, how long do relationships last? They usually last about two weeks if you're lucky. I think that's going to be fun to explore."

That aspect does sound fun, and true-to-life for normal teens. The rest of what's happening in Hawkins is much less light-hearted or normal, and -- without spoiling anything from the Season 2 finale -- it's going to be interesting to see how they pick up the action this time. A lot can happen in a year...

Andy Dick Fired From Movie for Misconduct, Admits He Licked & Propositioned Coworkers

4th Annual Light Up The Blues - ArrivalsAndy Dick quipped that his middle name is "misconduct," and the "Raising Buchanan" filmmakers knew what they were signing up for when they cast him. Be that as it may, the actor/comedian was fired from the indie film after reports of sexual harassment and misconduct.

Dick talked to The Hollywood Reporter about the allegations against him -- including "groping people's genitals, unwanted kissing/licking, and sexual propositions of at least four members of the production."

Here's part of Dick's defense:

"I didn't grope anybody. I might have kissed somebody on the cheek to say goodbye and then licked them. That's my thing -- I licked Carrie Fisher at a roast. It's me being funny. I'm not trying to sexually harass people. I didn't grab anybody's genitals.

Of course I'm going to proposition people. I'm single, depressed, lonely, and trying to get a date. They can just say no, and they probably did and then I was done."

If it sounds like he's delusional about what constitutes sexual harassment in the workplace, you're exactly right. Here's more from he 51-year-old actor to THR:

"I don't know the difference between sexual harassment and trying to get a date. In the '70s, all the girlfriends I got was by kissing and licking their cheek. I don't know anymore. There were beautiful women and beautiful guys on the set. I flirt with them. I might kiss someone on the set and ask them to go to dinner. They are the ones that took it south."

He thinks he's being cute, but he's had several serious allegations made about him over the years. A few years ago, Uproxx chronicled his behavior in "A Brief History Of Andy Dick's Stealing, Groping, Genital-Exposing Insanity," just covering 1999-2014:

"Andy has no qualms with exposing himself, defiling underage girls, ingesting copious amounts of chemical substances, and exposing himself some more. We could do a whole story of just Andy Dick urinating in public, but at this point, the cops have more to worry about with Dick than him relieving himself in public..."

Since he has had such a public reputation for years -- not even secretly, openly and legally -- it does seem like anyone who hires him in 2017 must know his history. He's clearly slow to learn what's acceptable behavior. But maybe this will finally be his wake-up call?

Wendy Williams Fainted Live on Her Halloween Show: 'That Was Not a Stunt'

Wendy Williams' fans are worried she was more than "overheated" when she passed out on Halloween.

Williams fainted during the live taping of "The Wendy Williams Show" on Tuesday, while dressed as the Statue of Liberty. (There's a metaphor in there somewhere.)

It was a particularly bizarre way of fainting, with the talk show host seeming to slur her words, wobbling backward, and even looking scared before falling over. The audience gasped, and crew members rushed forward before the show cut to commercial.

When the show returned from break, Williams seemed much better, and addressed what happened:

"That was not a stunt. I overheated in my costume. I did pass out. But you know what? I'm a champ and I'm back."

A rep for the show later told People:

"Wendy is feeling much better. She overheated because of her heavy costume, makeup, and lights. She was able to finish the show in true Wendy spirit. She will address the incident on tomorrow's show."

She already addressed what happened on Twitter:

However, as some fans noted, her symptoms sounded worse than just overheating.
Yes, let's hope she did go to her doctor after the taping instead of just brushing it off as overheating. Maybe she was overheated, but she did say "caress" instead of "guest" and exhibited signs of other medical issues. Take it seriously, Wendy!

Haley Joel Osment Joins 'X-Files' Season 11, No Word on Whether He'll See Dead People

Hulu's New York Comic Con After PartyHaley Joel Osment, who shot to fame in the thriller "The Sixth Sense," is returning to his supernatural roots, with a mysterious guest-starring role on the new season of "The X-Files."

According to TVLine, Osment, who recently appeared on HBO's "Silicon Valley," will be featured in an episode centered around FBI assistant director Walter Skinner (played by returning "X-Files" vet Mitch Pileggi). No details about Osment's character have been released by Fox, which confirmed the casting on Tuesday, though we can't help but wonder if there will be any winking references to his "Sixth Sense" protagonist's ability to see dead people.

Despite the mystery surrounding the actor's involvement in the show, "X-Files" creator Chris Carter had previously teased that the Skinner episode will delve into the FBI director's past, and feature a younger version of Pileggi's character.

"Fans will find out who he is, where he comes from, and why he is the way he is," Carter said during an appearance at New York Comic Con earlier this year.

Viewers won't have to wait much longer to find out the truth: "The X-Files" revival will return to Fox sometime in early 2018.

A 'Bad Boys' TV Spinoff Starring Gabrielle Union Is in the Works at NBC

Gabrielle Union And Cari Champion Appearance For 'We're Going To Need More Wine'"Bad Boys 3" may not be happening anytime soon (or at all), but it looks like the franchise will live on in the form of a TV spinoff, starring Gabrielle Union.

Deadline reports that a "Bad Boys" spinoff centered around Union's character from "Bad Boys II," which was being shopped to networks last week, has landed at NBC. Original "Bad Boys" producer Jerry Bruckheimer will return to produce the as-yet-untitled show's pilot.

Here's the scoop on the series, per Deadline:

The untitled 'Bad Boys' TV spinoff is being written by 'The Blacklist' writers-producers Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier. Syd Burnett, last seen in Miami taking down a drug cartel, now is an LAPD detective and can pursue all the pleasures Los Angeles has to offer and leave her past behind. But things will get complicated when her new partner, Nancy McKenna, learns that Syd's unapologetic lifestyle might be masking a greater personal secret.

In the 'Bad Boys' universe, Burnett is the sister of Detective Lieutenant Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) and was romantically involved with Marcus' partner, Detective Lieutenant Mike Lowrey (Will Smith).

Union, who recently released the bestselling memoir "We're Going to Need More Wine," is currently starring in BET series "Being Mary Jane." The show is set to wrap its run with a two-hour movie finale next year.

Neil Patrick Harris and His Family Had Another Perfect Group Halloween Costume

'House of Cards' Production Shut Down Indefinitely in Wake of Kevin Spacey Allegations

Netflix has shut down production on the sixth and final season of "House of Cards," following the controversy surrounding star Kevin Spacey.

In a joint statement released to Deadline, the streaming service and production company MRC confirmed that production -- which had just started in Baltimore, Maryland -- would now pause indefinitely while execs deal with the fallout from allegations that Spacey made unwanted sexual advances toward actor Anthony Rapp when Rapp was only 14. On Monday, Spacey issued an apology to Rapp, but claimed he did not remember the alleged incident.

Here's the statement in full:

"MRC and Netflix have decided to suspend production on 'House of Cards' season six, until further notice, to give us time to review the current situation and to address any concerns of our cast and crew."

Deadline reports that the cast and crew were informed of the decision to shut down on Tuesday morning. That follows another joint statement from Netflix and MRC issued on Monday, in which the companies said they were "deeply troubled" by Rapp's accusation, and were sending representatives to Baltimore to speak with the cast and crew directly, in order to "ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported."

It was also announced on Monday that season six would be the last for "House of Cards," though it's unclear if the decision to end the series had already been made, or if the show was cancelled in response to the Spacey allegations. Season six was previously scheduled to debut on Netflix sometime in mid 2018, but we'll have to wait and see when (or if) production resumes to know more about its future.

Ryan Reynolds Has the Perfect Tip for Your 'Deadpool' Halloween Costume

Superheroes and Halloween go together like peanut butter and chocolate, and lots of kids (and adults) will be dressing as their favored crusaders -- caped or otherwise -- this Halloween. But with those complicated, one-piece costumes comes an age old problem yet to be readily solved: How on Earth is someone supposed to easily use the bathroom while completely cocooned in a spandex suit?

That was the question plaguing one mom, Monique Tamminga, whose son is dressing as Deadpool for Halloween. So Tamminga decided to go straight to the source, and posed the query to "Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds on Twitter.

Naturally, Reynolds had the perfect deadpan response ready (and a useful tip, too).

"Everybody knows the Deadpool suit is also a toilet," Reynolds tweeted back at Tamminga. "Get it together."

While we wouldn't necessarily condone actually taking the actor's word for it, that would certainly be an easier solution than trying to take the suit off and put it back on without assistance. Just be prepared to face a lot of raised eyebrows -- and held noses -- while you're out trick or treating in your soiled costume.

HBO Picks Up Kit Harington Miniseries 'Gunpowder'

Giffoni Film Festival 2017 - Day 6HBO loves Jon Snow.

The cable network has bought the BBC One miniseries "Gunpowder," starring "Game of Thrones" star Kit Harington. The three-part series will air for consecutive nights starting on December 18.

"Gunpowder" is based on the real-life events in the 17th century that led to Guy Fawkes Day. Harington plays Robert Catesby, the driving force behind the 1605 Gunpowder Plot in London. Catesby was a fervent Catholic during a time when Protestant England harshly persecuted those of his faith.

The plan was to blow up the House of Lords on November 5, 1605 during Parliament's State Opening, killing King James I and then installing his 9-year-old daughter Princess Elizabeth as a Catholic Queen in his place. (History spoiler alert: The plan failed.)

Interesting fact: Harington is actually a descendent of Catesby.

"Gunpowder" also stars Mark Gatiss as the king's spymaster, Robert Cecil; Peter Mullan as a Jesuit priest; and Liv Tyler as Catesby's cousin, Anne Vaux. The miniseries is already airing in the U.K.

Netflix Developing 'House of Cards' Spinoffs

"House of Cards" may be folding, but Netflix is looking to deal a new deck.

Yesterday brought the news that the still-in-production sixth season of "House of Cards" would be its last. That came on the heels of Anthony Rapp's sexual assault allegation against Kevin Spacey, and Spacey's subsequent, much-criticized apology.

Now, Variety reports that the streaming service and producer Media Rights Capital are developing several ideas for a spinoff of "House of Cards." All are set in the same universe as the original series, which follows Spacey's Frank Underwood, a scheming politician who rises to become president.

One of the spinoff ideas revolves around Doug Stamper, the political advisor played by Michael Kelly. Eric Roth, a former "House of Cards" executive producer and current EP of TNT's "The Alienist," is attached to write the script.

Netflix seems to be following the model of HBO, which is developing several "Game of Thrones" spinoff ideas at once, hoping at least one will stick.

"House of Cards" was Netflix's first major original series and has garnered many accolades over the years, including Emmy nominations for Best Drama Series, Best Actor for Spacey, and Best Actress for Robin Wright every year since it premiered.

'Pet Sematary' Remake Brings on Directors

Two directors have been charged with resurrecting "Pet Sematary."

Variety reports that Paramount has hired Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer ("Starry Eyes") to direct a remake of the classic 1989 adaptation of Stephen King's novel.

The original follows a family who moves into a home next to a cemetery where the creatures don't stay dead or buried. The horror movie was a hit and spawned a sequel in 1992.

The remake comes in the wake of the blockbuster success of another King remake, "It," which broke box office records last month.

In fact, the director of "It," Andy Muschietti, spoke out about his desire to remake the movie himself.

"My affection for 'Pet Sematary' will go on until I die," he said. "I will always dream about the possibility of making a movie."

Widmyer and Kolsch teamed to direct the horror/fantasy indie film "Starry Eyes" and have also directed episodes of MTV's "Scream."

Selena Gomez on Francia Raisa's Kidney Donation: 'She Volunteered'

Unlikely Heroes' 3rd Annual Awards Dinner And GalaSelena Gomez is well aware that she is lucky to have Francia Raisa as a friend.

The two actresses have shared new details about Raisa's kidney donation to Gomez this summer, and they revealed that Gomez didn't even have to ask for help. In a "Today" interview, they explained that Raisa volunteered to be Gomez's donor after discovering the extent to which Lupus had ravaged her kidneys.

"I didn't want to ask a single person in my life," Gomez said. "The thought of asking somebody to do that was really difficult for me."

Her kidneys, however, "were done" and she was on the brink of needing dialysis. She confided into Raisa, telling her that the waiting list for a kidney could take seven to 10 years, according to the former "Secret Life of the American Teenager" star. That prompted Raisa to immediately volunteer to get tested to see if she was a match.

Initially, Gomez tried to deter Raisa because she was worried about the impact on her friend. Of course, as we know now, that didn't stop Raisa.

"She volunteered and did it," Gomez said.

Their surgeries took place this summer, and they went public with the news in September with a pair of touching posts on social media. Both are doing well now, but Gomez said it was "brutal" to get through.

Watch the two discuss the transplant below.

Now that's friendship.

Lindsey Stirling's 'Dancing With the Stars' Injury Could Force Her to Leave the Show

ABC's 'Dancing With the Stars': Season 25 - Week SixThe fight for the mirror ball has left Lindsey Stirling injured.

The "Dancing With the Stars" contestant suffered a rib injury on Sunday. Stirling was rushed to the hospital mid-rehearsal with a potential rib separation, according to TMZ. Understandably, the violinist-slash-dancer was said to be in a tremendous amount of pain -- to the extend that she is unsure if she'll be able to participate in the Monday night show.

Stirling has been competing with "DWTS" pro Mark Ballas, who joined her at the hospital. He had to break the news to her that missing Monday's performance would mean forfeiting the competition, according to TMZ. It remains unclear whether she'll be able to compete, as the network hasn't heard either way, Variety reports.

Being disqualified would be a major blow for Stirling. She and Ballas have been working hard, as she lamented in a TMZ video, and they are doing well, too. The duo earned a perfect score in their last performance and seemed to have a good shot at winning the coveted trophy.

Stirling's "DWTS" fate will be revealed soon enough; the show airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.

Netflix Cancels 'House of Cards' After Kevin Spacey Controversy: Report

House Of CardsThe Underwoods have been brought down in a way no one expected: "House of Cards" being canceled.

Netflix is planning to end the series after its upcoming sixth season, Deadline reports. Sources tell the publication that the decision was made in response to "Star Trek: Discovery" actor Anthony Rapp's claim that Kevin Spacey once made a sexual advance toward him when Rapp was just 14 years old. The streamer, along with Media Rights Capital, issued a statement Monday that said they were "deeply troubled" by the allegation.

"Media Rights Capital and Netflix are deeply troubled by last night's news concerning Kevin Spacey," the companies said in a joint statement. "In response to last night's revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time."

Responding to Rapp's claim, Spacey said he did not recall the alleged 1986 encounter. However, he added that he was "horrified by the story" and apologized if he "did then behave as [Rapp] describes." Still, his apology has only sparked further controversy given that it also marked his coming out as gay. Actor Zachary Quinto criticized Spacey, saying it was "sad and troubling" that the "House of Cards" star was coming out "as a calculated manipulation to deflect attention."

The situation is certainly a fraught one, casting a cloud over the final season of "House of Cards," which is due out in mid-2018.

'Stranger Things' Star Charlie Heaton Speaks Out After Alleged Drug-Related Incident at LAX

Virgin TV BAFTA Television Awards - Red Carpet ArrivalsCharlie Heaton's attempt to attend the L.A. "Stranger Things" Season 2 premiere didn't go quite as planned, and the actor wants fans to know he's sorry he missed the event.

Heaton made it as far as Los Angeles International Airport on Oct. 21, but he was reportedly detained for alleged cocaine possession. He was then sent back to the U.K., according to law enforcement, which meant he missed his show's premiere on Oct. 26. The actor described it as an "issue at U.S. immigration" in a statement to People magazine on Monday, and apologized for not being able to attend.

"My planned travel to the U.S. last week was affected by an issue at U.S. immigration, and I am working to rectify it as soon as possible," he said in his statement. "I do want to clarify that I was not arrested or charged with a crime, and cooperated fully with the U.S. officials at LAX. I'm sorry to all the fans and my 'Stranger Things' family for missing the premiere. We are all so proud of this season and I would never want this story to negatively impact the show."

The premiere went on without Heaton, meaning he missed out on some serious Hawkins Halloween fun.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 is now streaming on Netflix.

Gwyneth Paltrow's 'Seven' Halloween Costume Is a Darkly Comic Spoiler

Mark Hamill Almost Turned Down 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'

While the opening crawl of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" declared up front that Mark Hamill's character, Luke Skywalker, was missing, fans of the original trilogy were still disappointed when Luke didn't appear until the very end of the movie -- in a short, wordless scene, no less. Hamill was disappointed, too, when he discovered how small the role was in that flick, though as the actor admitted in a recent interview, he almost turned down the chance to return to the role entirely.

Luke and Hamill will be front and center as the titular character in the upcoming eighth installment of the "Star Wars" series, "The Last Jedi," which opens in December. But speaking with the New York Times, Hamill said that when George Lucas approached him and his fellow original costars, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, about appearing in "The Force Awakens," he was initially inclined to say no.

As Hamill explained to the Times, Lucas said that the new film would be written with Luke, Princess Leia, and Han Solo in mind should the actors agree to reprise their parts. The actor said he was "completely stunned" and also "really scared" about the opportunity to play Luke again.

"I thought, why mess with it? The idea of catching lightning in a bottle twice was ridiculously remote," he told the Times. " ... No one wants to see the 50-, 60-, 70-year-old versions of us, running around, bumping heads on the Death Star. It's sad."

Hamill said that while Fisher immediately agreed, he expected that Ford would not, reasoning that the actor was "too old and too rich and too cranky." But then Ford said yes, and Hamill realized he couldn't be the only holdout among the original trio.

"Can you imagine if I was the only one to say no?" he told the Times "I'd be the most hated man in nerd-dom."

We're certainly glad that Hamill decided to return, and can't wait to see him take center stage in "The Last Jedi." The flick hits theaters on December 15.

Kristen Bell's Daughter Made Her Dress As Elsa for Halloween

Yes, 'The Walking Dead' Fans, Minkus From 'Boy Meets World' Is One of the Saviors

Never mind the big return of THAT guy from "The Walking Dead" Season 1. What about Minkus/Mouth?

Actor Lee Norris played one of the Saviors, named Todd, in TWD Season 8, Episode 2. He didn't come across as the most competent Savior, but that's potentially good news for Team Rick.

Fans may recognize Lee Norris as Stuart Minkus from "Boy Meets World" and "Girl Meets World." Others remember him as Mouth McFadden on "One Tree Hill."

The official "Walking Dead" account confirmed his presence, and fans appreciated the surprise addition:

The other "One Tree Hill" star they're talking about is Austin Nichols, who played Spencer Monroe on TWD.

Based on Lee Norris' IMDb page -- which may or may not be an accurate source on this point -- his character Todd will also appear in "The Walking Dead" Season 8, Episode 3, titled "Monsters." That airs next Sunday, Nov. 5 at 9 p.m. on AMC.

'Stranger Things' Star Denied Entry Into U.S. Over Cocaine Possession: Reports

Esquire Townhouse With Dior - ArrivalsThis is why Charlie Heaton was not at the "Stranger Things" Season 2 premiere in L.A.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 23-year-old British actor was denied entry into the the U.S. when he tried to fly into L.A. last Saturday. Law enforcement officials told THR they found traces of cocaine on Heaton, and Heaton admitted the consumption of drugs to them. A source told the Daily Mail, "He was not arrested. He was held at the airport for a while and then put back on a plane to London that night."

So Heaton, who plays Jonathan Byers on "Stranger Things," missed Thursday's L.A. premiere of Season 2. He had to stay in the U.K. while the rest of the cast (including rumored girlfriend Natalia Dyer) walked the red carpet.

Jaime Ruiz, branch chief of strategic media engagement for U.S. Customs and Border Protection, wasn't specific about Heaton's case, but told THR there are more than 60 specific grounds of inadmissibility to the U.S.

"Foreign nationals may be inadmissible due to the commission of a crime involving drug possession. CBP officers treat all international travelers with integrity, respect and professionalism while keeping the highest standards of security."

Customs officials don't play around. If you have "trace amounts" of anything illegal anywhere in your possession, don't be shocked if the door closes behind you. It's not clear what this means for Heaton's future, in terms of access back into the U.S. for future events or continued filming for "Stranger Things," which shoots in the Atlanta, Georgia, area.

Kevin Spacey's 'Apology' Slammed, After Anthony Rapp Alleges Sexual Advance at Age 14

2017 AMD British Academy Britannia Awards Presented by American Airlines And Jaguar Land Rover - ShowKevin Spacey just apologized and came out in the same tweet, and many are upset at the pairing.

"Rent" and "Star Trek: Discovery" actor Anthony Rapp shared his story with BuzzFeed News, alleging Kevin Spacey tried to have sex with him in 1986 when Rapp was only 14 and Spacey was 26.

According to Rapp's account, Spacey befriended Rapp while they were both performing on Broadway; he invited Rapp over to his apartment for a party and, at the end of the night, he picked Rapp up (similar to a scene from Rapp's play, "Precious Sons") placed him on his bed, climbed on top of him, and tried to have sex with him.

After sharing the full details of the story with BuzzFeed, Rapp said:

"The older I get, and the more I know, I feel very fortunate that something worse didn't happen. And at the same time, the older I get, the more I can't believe it. I could never imagine [that] anyone else I know would do something like that to a 14-year-old boy."

Rapp told several friends over the years, and said he even met with a lawyer, who told him there was no case worth pursuing. He said he's sharing his story publicly now after the Harvey Weinstein scandal has opened the door to allow such conversations to be heard.

2017 New York Comic Con - Day 3The BuzzFeed story did address the speculation that Spacey is gay. Since his sexuality was made public in the same piece, Spacey acknowledged both Rapp's allegations against him and the rumors that he's gay in the same statement:

Spacey coming out as "a gay man" for the first time publicly in this context made for an uncomfortable juxtaposition. Many were quick to point out that being gay was not the meant to be the big reveal of Rapp's story, the big reveal was the allegation was that an adult tried to have sex with a 14-year-old.

Addressing that last tweet, some are wondering if more stories will be coming out, not just about Spacey's alleged behavior, but others in Hollywood (and perhaps beyond). Will Spacey be able to stay POTUS on Netflix's "House of Cards"?

New on Netflix

This week marks the start of a new month, and you know what that means: A heap of new titles will be added to Netflix as of Wednesday, Nov. 1, and others will be leaving on the same day.

"Alias Grace" (Netflix Original)
Alias Grace"The Handmaid's Tale" has been doing pretty darn well for Hulu, so Netflix is trying its luck with another, very different, Margaret Atwood novel. She might be the new Stephen King when it comes to adaptations. No complaints!

"Alias Grace" is a six-hour miniseries following Grace Marks, "a poor, young Irish immigrant and domestic servant in Upper Canada who, along with stable hand James McDermott, was convicted of the brutal murders of their employer, Thomas Kinnear, and his housekeeper, Nancy Montgomery, in 1843."

Sarah Gadon has the lead role, with support from Anna Paquin, Zachary Levi, and Paul Gross. Fun fact: The series was written by the amazing Sarah Polley. Stream it all this Friday, Nov. 3."The Big Family Cooking Showdown" Season 1 (Netflix Original)
If you love "The Great British Baking Show," you may love this BBC team cooking competition. It's hosted by "Great British Bake Off" (as they call it across the pond) winner Nadiya Hussain, along with Zoë Ball. Each week, two teams of three family members compete in three challenges, judged by Michelin star chef Giorgio Locatelli and cookery teacher Rosemary Shrager. The series is available on Netflix this Friday, Nov. 3.

TV Worth Watching

"Superior Donuts" Season 2 (Monday on CBS at 9 p.m.)
Mmmmm. Donuts. CBS is tweaking its schedule a bit this week, bringing Season 2 of "Superior Donuts" back at 9 p.m. instead of 9:30, so it airs before "Me, Myself & I." The October 30 premiere is called "What the Truck?" and here's the scoop: "Arthur's business is threatened by an ambitious young entrepreneur who parks her food truck in front of the donut shop; Franco grows frustrated trying to following his dream of going to college."

• Halloween Stuff (Tuesday on various channels)
Tuesday night is Halloween, and if "Halloween" is your thing, AMC has you covered. Over on FXX, they're doing a marathon of "The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror" episodes, which is pretty awesome. Some Network TV shows honored Halloween last week, but a few are doing night-of episodes, including "This Is Us" with Episode 6, "The 20's": "Trick-or-treating with the 10-year-olds goes awry for Jack and Rebecca; Randall, Kevin and Kate have life-changing Halloweens." Also, if you want to get ahead of the game, "Dancing With the Stars" has a Halloween-themed night on Monday, Oct. 30 from 8 to 10 pm.

• "Major Crimes" Season 6 (Tuesday on TNT at 9 p.m.)
TNT is ending "Major Crimes" after Season 6, which starts on Halloween night and continues for 13 episodes, with the series finale airing January 16, 2018. The final season begins with "Sanctuary City: Part 1": "When three 15-year-old boys vanish from a Catholic school field trip, Asst. Chief Mason orders Major Crimes to treat their disappearance as a critical missing; Sharon receives more evidence that Phillip Stroh may be returning to Los Angeles."

"SMILF" Season 1 (Sunday on Showtime at 10 p.m.)
Frankie Shaw stars as scrappy single mom Bridgette Bird -- trying to navigate life in South Boston with a very unconventional family -- in this new semi-autobiographical half-hour comedy. The first episode, "A Box of Dunkies & Two Squirts of Maple Syrup," airs right after the Season 8 premiere of "Shameless."

• "Get Out" (Saturday on HBO at 8 p.m.)
Much like Netflix, HBO also adds a bunch of titles at the start of the month, and you should check out what they're adding to HBO NOW and On Demand. Every Saturday night they "premiere" a new movie, and this week it's Jordan Peele's breakout horror comedy "Get Out." Perfect for a post-Halloween treat. Watch it with any leftover candy you might have.

Box Office: 'Jigsaw' Dominates Pre-Halloween Weekend With $16.3 Million

In one of the slowest weekends this year, horror titles dominated the pre-Halloween box with Lionsgate's opening of "Jigsaw" leading the way at a respectable $16.3 million at 2,941 North American locations.

The second weekend of "Boo 2! A Madea Halloween," also from Lionsgate, turned in a solid performance with $10 million at 2,388 sites, but no other title cleared the $6 million mark. Matt Damon's "Suburbicon" struggled with about $2.8 million at 2,046 sites and Miles Teller's "Thank You For Your Service" finished with $3.7 million at 2,054 theaters; both came in below modest forecasts in their launch weekends.

"Jigsaw" is the eighth title in the "Saw" franchise, which centers on the deranged killer played by Tobin Bell. Audiences gave the movie a B Cinemascore, and the film made about $4 million less than projected in its launch weekend. The movie, which has a budget around $10 million, is set a decade after the death of Jigsaw as police investigate a series of gruesome murders that fit the Jigsaw style.

"Boo 2," starring Tyler Perry as Madea, declined 53% from its opening weekend and will wind up with $35.5 million in its first 10 days. Warner Bros.' second weekend of weather disaster tale "Geostorm" finished a distant third with a 59% decline to $5.6 million at 3,246 venues, followed by Universal's third weekend of "Happy Death Day" with about $4.7 million. Warner's fourth weekend of "Blade Runner 2049" snagged fifth place and "Thank You for Your Service," produced by DreamWorks Pictures and released by Universal, came in sixth in its opening weekend.

"Thank You for Your Service" follows a group of U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq who struggle to integrate back into family and civilian life. Teller stars along with Haley Bennett, Joe Cole, Amy Schumer, Beulah Koale, Scott Haze, and Keisha Castle-Hughes.

"Suburbicon," which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, centers on the dark side of a prototypical suburban community in 1959. Audiences were unimpressed and gave the comedy-drama a D- Cinemascore. Paramount acquired U.S. distribution rights last year for $10 million with Black Bear Pictures financing.

The overall domestic weekend is heading for a total of about $75 million, according to comScore.
