Watch a Supercut of 2016's Best Films for 'The Year in Movies'

You might not have seen every movie you wanted to this year, but there's a quick way to get the highlights.

Screen Junkies released a supercut of 2016's best films on Tuesday -- "The Year in Movies: 2016 Cinema Supercut" -- and it goes through a year's worth of movies in less than six minutes. You get a little of everything, from animated hits to horror flicks, and they all come together surprisingly seamlessly and poignantly.

Sure, it's not the same as actually catching the films in a theater, but the supercut is a great sampler of the best of the best. Plus, it's a heck of a lot cheaper than seeing them all, and it might remind you of all the movies you still need to check out.

Watch the video below and see which of your favorite films made the supercut.

Quite a year, right?

The 'Game of Thrones' World Is 'Getting More and More Extraordinary,' Says Star Iain Glen

FRANCE-ENTERTAINMENT-TELEVISION-MIPCOM"Game of Thrones" may be winding down with only two seasons left, but the fantasy drama series' world will only be more impressive in Season 7.

Iain Glen, who plays Ser Jorah Mormont on the HBO hit series, recently opened up to RadioTimes.com about what we can expect from the upcoming season. He offered assurances of another quality installment (phew), indicating that the team is really taking the time to aim for quality.

"They are taking the length of time it takes to shoot 10 episodes to shoot just seven this year and six next year," Glen said. "I think the scale and size of the set pieces, the world that is being created, it's just getting more and more extraordinary."

The only downside for fans is that the work that goes into this magnificent world means that even a shorter Season 7 can't make up for production being delayed earlier this year. The gap between seasons 6 and 7 will be the longest yet, despite there being three fewer episodes. Meanwhile, Season 8's episode count could be as small as six.

As for what Ser Jorah's long-term future holds, not even Glen knows (or so he says). "I don't know of course if I am going to make the last one," he said. "I am sort of doing a head count, but I think it's certainly under 10 people who were in the original pilot and have been in every season since."

Sadly, it will be months before we get to watch and see for ourselves. "Game of Thrones" Season 7 doesn't premiere till this summer. Alas.

Bryan Cranston Plays a 'Malcom in the Middle' Version of Himself in 'The Masterpiece,' Says James Franco

Premiere Of 20th Century Fox's "Why Him?" - ArrivalsPut Bryan Cranston and James Franco down on the list of unlikely but solid celebrity bromances.

The two actors' second film together -- "Why Him?" -- hit theaters earlier in December, and there's another on the way: "The Masterpiece." All of these joint projects are no coincidence. They became friends after being cast in "Why Him?", making Franco want to do more with his co-star, he revealed during an interview with the South China Morning Post.

"I asked Bryan to play Sheriff in 'In Dubious Battle,' and then I directed 'The Masterpiece' and he did that too," Franco said. "I asked if he would play himself."

Intriguingly, this isn't a straight-up cameo. In "The Masterpiece," Cranston will play "a version of himself from the early 2000s."

"It's Bryan Cranston from 'Malcom in the Middle,'" Franco said.

That should definitely add to an already interesting story. The biopic centers on the making of "The Room," a cult film by Tommy Wiseau. Franco stars in the film, along with his brother Dave Franco, Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, and Alison Brie, among others.

The 'Homeland' Season 6 Premiere Has Arrived Early

Celebrity Sightings in New York City - December 20, 2016Surprise! You don't have to wait for "Homeland" Season 6's official premiere date to watch the first episode.

Showtime has already made the new episode available on its Showtime streaming service, Showtime Anytime, and Showtime On Demand, reports Deadline. The series doesn't debut on the premium channel itself until Sunday, Jan. 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, so subscribers will get a chance to reunite with Carrie (Claire Danes) and crew more than two weeks early on the platforms in question. Apparently, the network picked up on our need to end 2016 on a high note.

"Homeland" is returning for its sixth season, and this time, the political thriller will return to U.S. soil. Carrie, having stopped a group of terrorists in Berlin, will be living in Brooklyn, New York. The season deals with the aftermath of a presidential election, focusing specifically on the time between Election Day and the new president's inauguration.

If you're not caught up yet, Showtime is making it easy with a multi-day "Homeland" marathon. Go crazy.

'Rogue One' Becomes Third Biggest Movie of the Year

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" just became the third biggest movie release in North America in 2016.

The film added $16.6 million on Thursday, bringing its domestic box office total to $375 million. That puts it behind "Finding Dory" ($486.3 million) and "Captain America: Civil War" ($408 million), but ahead of blockbusters like "Deadpool" and "The Jungle Book." It's unlikely for "Rogue One" to pass "Captain America" in the last two days of the year.

"Rogue One" opened with $155 million, making it the second biggest December release of all time (just behind "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." It is already the 29th highest earner of all time at the domestic box office. And the movie's worldwide total is now $687.7 million, and the movie hasn't even opened in China yet.

Disney and Lucasfilm execs are probably popping champagne corks over the success of the first "Star Wars" standalone movie. "Episode VIII" is set for December 2017, while the young Han Solo standalone movie is due for 2018.

Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher to Have Joint Mother-Daughter Funeral

21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Press RoomCarrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds will have a joint funeral after dying within a day of each other.

Todd Fisher, Debbie's son and Carrie's brother, confirmed the plan to ABC News. He added there is no date or location set at this time, but arrangements are in progress, with input from Carrie Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd.

The 60-year-old "Star Wars" actress died Tuesday a few days after suffering a heart attack on a flight from London to Los Angeles. Reynolds suffered a fatal stroke Wednesday at the age of 84.

Todd Fisher indicated Reynolds died of a broken heart and that she said "I want to be with Carrie" just before passing away.

"I think she wanted to be with her," he said on "Good Morning America." "I'm not joking when I say she left to be with her and I'm happy about that. That's the only thing I'm happy about."

A mother-daughter funeral seems appropriate. Though Reynolds and Fisher had a troubled relationship at times, they became very close and lived next door to each other. Their documentary, "Bright Lights," will air on HBO next month.

'American Gods' May Be 2017's Most Eagerly Anticipated Show

Mr Wednesday (Ian McShane) and Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) in Starz's "American Gods""American Gods" is shaping up to be one of the most eagerly awaited television events of 2017 -- even for the actors appearing in it.

With an enormously alluring pedigree that includes renowned fantasy author Neil Gaiman's bestselling source novel, the creative touch of acclaimed showrunner Bryan Fuller ("Hannibal") and the extravagant production values afforded by the premium cable channel Starz, "Gods" looks to have the broad-based audience allure of similar fantastical fare, like HBO's "Game of Thrones" and "Westworld" -- even before the series' official premiere date has been announced.

Among a prestigious cast that includes Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning, Crispin Glover, Gillian Anderson, Cloris Leachman, and Kristin Chenoweth, members of the series' acting ensemble on the series -- which depicts an epic showdown between the gods of old and new, with modern deities in forms like Media and Technology -- are also abuzz with anticipation.

Actor Jonathan Tucker, the "Kingdom" co-star who previously collaborated with Fuller on "Hannibal" and an unsold TV pilot, reteams with the writer/producer to play Low-Key Lyesmith, who for viewers who haven't read the novel comes with many a surprise up his sleeve.

"I loved this idea," Tucker told Moviefone of his enthusiasm for the material and the relevancy of its of-the-moment themes. "We're always battling tradition and the old guard with progress and with the new temptations. That's certainly the case at this point. There's also this idea that Greed and Technology and these new gods -- the gods of today in Neil Gaiman's book -- we're still wrestling with those issues, even though it's been 20 years since the book.Technical Boy (Bruce Langley) in Starz's "American Gods""There's a lot of people who feel very left behind, on both sides of the political spectrum," he continued. "You always know that the source material is on point when the themes can carry forward 20 some odd years after it was originated."

"I'm geeking out!" admitted actress Yetide Badaki, whose filmography includes appearances on television favorites like "Criminal Minds" and "NCIS," and who considers herself a major fan of Gaiman's works. Badaki plays another elder deity, Bilquis, the Goddess of Love, caught up in the brewing war between the old and new gods.Bilquis (Yetide Badaki) in Starz's "American Gods""I'd already read the book when it originally came out, and the first thing that hit me was that it is an immigration story," Badaki explained. "I'm originally from Nigeria, and only recently became a citizen. And there's so much with all the stories of these old gods being brought into present day. You see all these different immigration stories, so that was the one thing that resonated immediately for me."

"There's a lot of power in it," said Badaki. "And it's interesting because a lot of women have been reaching out, even before our show has opened, and they're all really empowered by it, and they're really excited to see where Bilquis is taken."

The actress says that one of the behind-the-scenes thrills of her role has been watching Fuller bring all of his creative powers to bear on Gaiman's story. "We already know Bryan's an amazing, incredible, just joyful human being, and he is a master storyteller," she said. "He loves what he does, and he loves asking the difficult questions. He doesn't shy away from that."

"It's really inspirational to see somebody that has been in this business for so long hold that same passion, hold themselves that accountable to the role that storytelling plays, and to do it with such joy," she added. "It's just incredible to watch."

"Bryan Fuller has been a long-time collaborator of mine, and I would say I'm one of his biggest fans," agreed Tucker. "We have a very close relationship. I would serve coffee on a Bryan Fuller set! So when he called up to have a conversation about this character, I leapt."Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) and Laura Moon (Emily Browning) in Starz's "American Gods"

New 'Wonder Woman' Photo Teases 'Dark' World War I Setting

Next year's "Wonder Woman" standalone film will give DC fans a chance to learn more about the mysterious hero played by Gal Gadot, and will also thrust audiences into a dark, real-life setting: World War I. A new image from the flick teases that grim feel, and how Wonder Woman will approach such a brutal conflict.

The photo, which debuted in the new issue of Empire magazine, features our heroine running through some debris, with what looks like an explosion going off (or having recently been set off) nearby. There's rubble, smoke, and twisted, broken trees everywhere, but Wonder Woman looks as badass as ever, racing through it all with a determined look on her face. Would we expect anything less from her?

wonder woman, gal gadot, new photo, world war i

As director Patty Jenkins explains to Empire, Wonder Woman's unwavering moral code will be an integral part of the flick, as the character grapples with understanding the motivations behind humans waging war on each other in such a brutal fashion.

"My approach was to focus on telling the story of mechanised war and how that would look to a god visiting our world for the first time," Jenkins told Empire. "I wanted the audience to understand the horrors that a war on this scale makes possible and how shocking that would be to someone who comes with a strong sense of honour and justice. She doesn't realise yet just how senselessly dark the world can be."

Sounds like intriguing stuff. Fans will have a chance to see how it all plays out when "Wonder Woman" hits theaters on June 2, 2017.

HBO to Debut Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds Doc 'Bright Lights' Next Month

21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Press RoomWhile its future was uncertain in wake of the sudden passing of both Carrie Fisher and her mother, Debbie Reynolds, earlier this week, an HBO documentary about the famous pair is still on track, and will debut on the premium cable outlet early next month.

HBO announced on Friday that it was moving forward with the release of "Bright Lights: Starring Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds," which chronicles the unique bond between Hollywood legend Reynolds and her equally-famous actress-writer daughter. After Fisher unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday at the age of 60 after suffering a heart attack, and Reynolds died the following day at the age of 84 after having a stroke, HBO was unsure of how to proceed with its rollout of the documentary, wanting to be sensitive to Fisher and Reynolds's grieving families.

The doc is now set to premiere on the cable outlet on Saturday, January 7 at 8 p.m. EST, and will likely be rebranded as a tribute to the lives of the late stars. Previously, HBO had described the film as "an intimate portrait of Hollywood royalty in all its eccentricity," and HBO Documentary Films President Sheila Nevins called "Bright Lights" a "love story" between the pair.

In addition to "Bright Lights," HBO is also planning on re-airing its 2010 documentary about Fisher's one-woman show, "Wishful Drinking," this weekend. It will run on the cable outlet on Sunday, January 1, at 9 p.m. EST, and is also available through the HBO Go and HBO Now apps.

Here's a Sneak Peek at Emma Watson Singing in 'Beauty and the Beast'

Todd Fisher Shares Tribute to Sister Carrie Fisher, Mom Debbie Reynolds: 'Love Is Everlasting'

21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Press RoomThe death of "Star Wars" actress Carrie Fisher earlier this week, followed immediately by the death of her mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, sent shockwaves through Hollywood, as friends and fans alike mourned the passing of the mega stars. But those hit the hardest by their deaths were their family members, and now, Fisher's brother and Reynolds's son has shared a loving, fitting tribute to the two formidable women.

Todd Fisher took to Twitter on Thursday to offer some more thoughts about the passing of his mother and sister, whose deaths came only one day apart. Carrie Fisher died on Tuesday at the age of 60, after suffering a heart attack a few days prior; Reynolds, 84, entered the hospital on Wednesday after suffering a stroke, and died later that day.

Todd Fisher had previously said that Reynolds couldn't bear her daughter's death, and told him, "I want to be with Carrie" right before she passed away. On Thursday, Fisher shared an illustration on Twitter featuring Reynolds wearing her yellow rain slicker from her biggest movie, "Singin' in the Rain," and Carrie Fisher in her iconic Princess Leia costume from "Star Wars," their arms around each other; the caption on the picture took a line from the titular "Singin' in the Rain" tune, reading, "What a glorious feeling. I'm happy again."

Todd Fisher added his own thoughts to the image, writing about the incredibly close bond that Carrie Fisher and Reynolds shared throughout their lifetimes, and the love for his family that will always remain.

"This is a beautiful love story to witness in my 58 years," Todd Fisher wrote. "I miss them both so much. Love is everlasting."

Excuse us, we have something in our eyes...

'Gilmore Girls' Fans Are Convinced This Netflix Tweet Means More New Episodes Are Coming

gilmore girls, a year in the life, netflix, new episodes, rory, logan, baby, daddy, father"Gilmore Girls" fans just can't stop talking about that controversial ending to Netflix revival series "Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life," and now the streaming service itself is getting in on the conversation -- and perhaps hinting that there's more "Gilmore" ahead for viewers.

That's what many Twitter users thought when the official Netflix account posted on the social media site on Thursday, sharing a doctored photo referencing (SPOILER ALERT) the mysterious identity of Rory's (Alexis Bledel) baby daddy. "A Year in the Life" ended with "Gilmore" creator Amy Sherman-Palladino's famous "final four words," which revealed that the youngest Gilmore girl was pregnant.

The tweet in question is a reference to April's (Vanessa Marano) season six search for her biological father through a DNA test conducted for a school science fair, leading her to Luke (Scott Patterson). While we're not thrilled with Netflix reminding us of one of the worst plotlines in "Gilmore" history, it's a pretty funny gag, since many fans have been arguing about the identity of Rory's baby's father since the revival wrapped.

To us, the only logical choice is Logan (Matt Czruchry), and he's represented here alongside the other two men Rory slept with in the revival: Paul, the bland boyfriend that Rory just won't break up with for whatever reason; and the mysterious Wookiee guy, who Rory hooked up with while reporting a story for GQ. But what really caught fans' attention was the caption the Netflix account chose to use with the photo: "Where's an eighth grade science fair when you need one?"

That question led followers to speculate Netflix was teasing another batch of new "Gilmore" episodes, which centers around identifying Rory's baby daddy. (Or at the very least, introduces us to the newest little Gilmore girl or guy.) Some fans were convinced that this was a sign; others remained more skeptical. (We're in the latter camp -- this seems more like a silly social media post than any sort of clue about the future of "Gilmore.")

Wherever you stand, we can all agree that "A Year in the Life" gave us a lot to talk about. Whether or not there's more is up to ASP and the folks at Netflix, and we may have to wait a while before we get a definitive answer about that.

Watch 'Sherlock' Star Amanda Abbington Talk Mary's Huge Season 3 Twist

'Sherlock' Screening Of The 2016 Christmas SpecialWe've been promised a dark "Sherlock" Season 4, and that should come as no surprise after the events of Season 3 -- especially the unveiling of Mary Watson's huge secret in Episode 3: "His Last Vow."

In a new featurette released Wednesday by PBS, Amanda Abbington opens up about her character's big twist and what made it so interesting.

*If you haven't seen the episode, there are spoilers ahead.*

"Sherlock" fans weren't the only ones shocked to find out that Mary was actually an assassin -- and one capable of shooting the titular detective (Benedict Cumberbatch) at that. The actress herself only discovered the secret while reading through Episode 3 with her co-star Martin Freeman. The twist "pulled the rug out" from underneath her, she says, but she ultimately liked how it worked out.

"I think the payoff in Episode 3 is bigger and more powerful because you didn't know that that's what she was going to be," she says in the video.

Unfortunately, she didn't reveal any of the surprises ahead in "Sherlock" Season 4, but we'll see them play out when the first episode premieres on Jan. 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Masterpiece on PBS.

The '2016: The Movie' Trailer Parodies The Horror of a Year We've Had

There are years that live larger than others, like 2000 and its Y2K madness. In case there was any question, 2016 has become one of them as well. The proof? A new parody video called "2016: The Movie."

Created by Friend Dog Studios, a comedy trio composed of Brian Huther, Ben Auxier, and Seth Macchi, the video is a spoof horror movie trailer that examines the beast of a year we've had. It touches on the lowlights of 2016, including the death of Harambe the gorilla, the shocking turns in politics around the world, and the slew of tragic celebrity deaths.

"It's like things you never expect are happening everywhere," says one of the characters in the video.

The year itself seems to be one of the villains, alongside another -- wearing what looks a whole lot like a Donald Trump mask -- and they show up to wreak havoc on the poor, confused characters. Along the way, there are also classic horror elements that add to the hilarity, from children singing to a montage of brutal weapons.Let's hope this thing is wrong and the worst of 2016 is behind us.

How Vincent D'Onofrio Conjured His 'Emerald City' Wizard

Emerald City - Season 1As an actor, Vincent D'Onofrio has long been great and powerful -- and now he's the great and powerful Oz.

NBC's ambitious, expectation-bending new series, "Emerald City," which bows Jan. 6, challenges the pop cultural perception of author L. Frank Baum's long beloved series of novels set in the land of Oz as largely defined by the classic 1939 musical "The Wizard of Oz" -- the series takes Baum's fantastical realm and hints of political allegory and replaces its fairy tale qualities with a harder-edged, "Game of Thrones" --flavored sensibility.

And that includes the show's interpretation of the Wizard: he's still a man from the earthly realm who found his way to Oz and achieved a position of tremendous power, but he's also a haunted, lonely, isolated figure with an enigmatic agenda and precarious hold on his position.

And as D'Onofrio -- who still expects to revive his acclaimed portrayal of "Daredevil's" Kingpin, Wilson Fisk, very soon -- reveals to Moviefone it's another opportunity to subtly shade a role that's existed in the pop conscious in a less complex incarnation.

Moviefone: When you get offered a role like this, I'm sure it comes with a lot of thoughts like, "Well, OK. We know the movie. We know that there's a bunch of books by L. Frank Baum. What are we bringing to the table?" How did you wrap your head around what you were all doing, since this was such a fresh take -- and what you wanted to bring to it?

Vincent D'Onofrio: I was fortunate to come in late. I heard that [filmmaker/producer] Tarsem [Singh] was doing it, so I asked Tarsem if I could play the Wizard. I hadn't even read the script ... [then] I read a few of them, so my entry into the whole story and how I realized it was through the character of the Wizard: how we could take it further than he was in the original script?

And they reacted so positively to it and started writing immediately. We were talking about all different aspects and how far we could go with it, his psychology and why he is the way he is, what makes him the fraud that he is in the original, but what really makes him that, whether it's issues with self-worth and things like this. So we got pretty far deep into that, and I was reading, reading, reading.

I just loved that the take that I had on the Wizard as I was reading, I realized that that was the movie. You get to learn page by page who the Lion is, who the Tin Man is, who Dorothy is. And you're like, "Oh sh*t. That's the Lion! He's going to be the Lion on that." "That guy's going to turn into the Tin Man!" But you knew this through their emotional makeup as human beings, or as beings, and I thought that was fascinating.

So the more we dove into the character of the Wizard with Tarsem, and the more I read, and finally I read the whole 10 hours of it, I was so immersed in the world. I couldn't wait to start. I'd come up with the voice. We'd do a couple of different things. He has different voices at different times, and he has a different look in public than he does in private. It was very interesting stuff.

Once you got to work, and you also had the costumes and his environment to play with and help inform you, tell me a little bit about how they affected you and what you wanted to do.

I really try hard not to stick my nose in everybody's business. I really try hard. But when you have such an amazing project like this, you can't help but never stop thinking about it. So even the way we approached the wardrobe, it's kind of in a way Falstaffian, in a way at times. I wanted that kind of Shakespeare [feel], like maybe an actor from, like, the '70s, a British actor in the '70s, doing Shakespeare. Like with the weird hair, and with the wigs and everything. I really wanted to do that kind of a thing.

They just loved the idea. At one point in the show, I'm wearing a bald cap, a wig on top of the bald cap, and then a wig on top of that. So there's the bald cap which is supposed to be me, really, and there's a wig on top of that, which is supposed to be really the Wizard's hair, and bald cap, and then a wig that everybody knows is not the Wizard's hair on top of that. So you get to go deeper and deeper into his psyche and what makes him up.

We took the idea of -- in the original "Wizard of Oz," in the movie, anyway, the musical -- how they project that image that he has, that image projector. Instead of projecting image, in this he brings the image forward.

Obviously, the Baum work has proven to be timeless over 100 years. Did you see something sort of allegorical in this interpretation that was really relevant to us today?

All of my life -- and everybody else's life as well, obviously -- there are always different factions in society. As you get older and you start to become more and more aware and realize what these factions stand for, these ideologies and these beliefs, you start to understand the scope of society better, and how things change the world, and how lands like Oz or a city like Emerald City, or a country like ours, the countries in Europe and all over the world, how they move into being far right and far left, and being military and non-military, and forming alliances with other countries that sometimes people end up backing out of.

All that goes on in Oz, just like it does here. All of it. Everything that I just said goes on. And you just hope for the best, like we do in real life. You just hope that, in the end, people are good, and that people really prefer to be calm inside themselves, and that's their favorite thing. So you just have to hope that in Oz that that's going on as well. That in the end, people are going to prefer for there not to be war, and there not to be overt manipulation, and a lot of lying going on and a lot of behind the scenes deals being made. So it's pretty relevant.

This is another seemingly larger than life but very rooted in reality character you've gotten to play for TV, "Daredevil's" Wilson Fisk being the most recent before the Wizard. Tell me what you liked about that character, and how you see these men, like the Wizard and like Wilson Fisk. It would be easy to be caricature-ish with them, but you find a way to make them feel real.

It's always interesting. I'm sure you can relate to this, you're a writer: we all have things that we create. Some of them are on bigger scales than others, but so what? It's still just about ourselves creating a certain thing. So to hear people talk about him in the way that you are, it's very interesting to me because the only answer I can really give you to that is that it's my job, and I approach it in a very kind of academic kind of way.

I'm not a very romantic actor in the sense that I don't live the characters. I used to when I was young. Now that I have kids and a family, and I hope to be a good father, I have to leave it behind me when I go home, the characters. So, for instance, who Wilson Fisk is comes from a single emotion in my life. One very specific emotion. I won't tell you what that is, but it's a very particular emotion that happened during an event in my life at one point, and that's where his voice comes from. It comes through that all the time, like it never doesn't. And that's what makes him who you see him as.

Then you take a guy like the Wizard, it's the hiding behind the character. It's the cloak that we put over ourselves when we don't want to be seen. It's a very interesting subject, especially for an actor to deal with. I'm not a kid anymore. I've played, I wouldn't be able to tell you how many roles I've played. This is something that's become part of my life, cloaking, disappearing, and there's a price to be paid for that. So the Wizard character comes from that. So that's the only way I can answer your question.

What's got you excited about returning to the Marvel Universe?

I always want to be there. Honestly, I'm the biggest kid in the world when it comes to that. James Gunn and I have been tweeting back and forth to each other -- I really want to work with him. A good friend of mine is Chris Pratt. We've done two films together. He's just an awesome guy. We want to work together again.

Then there's this Netflix Marvel thing that I'm doing. I'm always talking to [Marvel's Head of Television] Jeph Loeb over there about what we're going to do next, and when. I just love it. I, of course, am not allowed to talk about anything in particular. But I know for sure that they love Fisk over there, and that Fisk will be back. When is that going to happen? I have no idea.

I'm as bad as my kids when it comes to movies. Like I'm dying to see a few movies, like "Nocturnal Animals," right? But I also want to see "Wonder Woman." That's what I'm saying: I'm dying to see "Wonder Woman." I'm dying to see these other films as well. But I'm as big a kid as my kids are when it comes to these movies.

And, of course, the comic book Wilson Fisk began as a "Spider-Man" villain. How great would it be to play the Kingpin against Tom Holland?

If it's part of that story, yeah. It'd be awesome.

Ryan Gosling Reunites With 'La La Land' Director for Neil Armstrong Biopic

Ryan Gosling And Emma Stone Hand And Footprint CeremonyAfter finding success with "La La Land," actor Ryan Gosling and director Damien Chazelle are launching another joint project.

Gosling has signed on to star in "First Man," an upcoming biopic about Neil Armstrong, the first astronaut to walk on the moon, reports THR. The actor finalized an official deal in December after roughly a year of circling the Chazelle-directed film. Apparently, Gosling finally gave in to its gravitational pull.

The project boasts other high-profile players as well, including screenwriter Josh Singer ("Spotlight"). His script is adapted from the astronaut's authorized biography, "First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong," written by James Hansen. As such, it will center on the moon-landing mission, which culminated in Armstrong's historic "giant leap for mankind" on July 20, 1969.

Gosling and Chazelle proved to be a strong combination with 2016's "La La Land." Not only did each earn a Golden Globe nomination for their work on the film, Gosling was nominated for a SAG Award. The musical has inspired Oscar buzz and may garner a nod -- or multiple -- come January.

Beyond working well together, Gosling seems to enjoy Chazelle's approach to filmmaking. He previously recounted the story of their first meeting to Awardsline and revealed what he discovered over drinks with the director.

"The drunker we got, the more passionate Damien got about making movies that you couldn't watch on your phone," Gosling said. "He wanted to make films that people would want to go see in a theater, with an audience."

We'll see if they can do that again with "First Man."

'Star Wars' Fans Honor Carrie Fisher with Lightsaber Vigils Across the US

Lindsay Lohan Really Wants to Make 'Mean Girls 2'

Lindsay Lohan is serious about reprising her role as Cady Heron in a "Mean Girls" sequel. So much so, in fact, that the actress has taken the liberty of writing a treatment for the hypothetical sequel herself.

Lohan dished about her desire to make fetch "Mean Girls 2" happen in an interview with CNN on Facebook Live on Thursday. When asked about the prospect of making more comedies, Lohan said she'd "love" to take a crack at another "Mean Girls" feature.

"I have been trying so hard to do a 'Mean Girls 2,'" the actress said, acknowledging that the right people have to sign off on the project before anything can officially happen.

"It is not in my hands," she continued. "I know that Tina Fey, and Lorne Michaels, and all of Paramount -- everyone is very busy. But I will keep forcing it and pushing it on them until we do it."

Lohan also had a couple suggestions for new additions to the follow-up flick, citing "Freaky Friday" costar Jamie Lee Curtis and longtime pal Jimmy Fallon as potential cast members. And according to the actress, original director Mark Waters would "happily come back" to direct the sequel.

"I've already written a treatment for it," Lohan said. "So I just need a response."

Fey is currently hard at work on the "Mean Girls" musical, which is set to premiere in Washington, D.C. sometime next year. But here's hoping she has some time for a three-way calling attack phone call from Lohan to discuss the possibility.

'Girl Meets World' Has 'Ended,' According to Rider Strong

Disney Channel's "Girl Meets World" - Season TwoIts future was already up in the air, with no fourth season renewal announced, but is "Girl Meets World" really ending for good? According to one cast member, the answer, sadly, is yes.

That's the word from Rider Strong, who plays Shawn Hunter on the Disney Channel show, a sequel to '90s series "Boy Meets World." Strong, who also played Shawn on the original series, has been a recurring character throughout the entire run of "Girl," which is currently slated to wrap its third season in January.

During a recent episode of his podcast, Literary Disco, Strong had some sobering words for "Girl" fans. Without saying so definitively, Strong indicated that the series had come to its conclusion.

"We finished the third season of 'Girl Meets World' — my brother and I were directing a lot of episodes and I acted in a couple — and the show ended," Strong said on the podcast.

Deadline reports that that statement is in line with what the trades have been hearing about the show's future, and that the series is all but cancelled:

Sources say that Disney Channel has not officially notified the cast and crew of the show's future but no renewal is expected and the upcoming Jan. 20 third season finale, aptly titled "Girl Meets Goodbye", would serve as a series finale.

That episode, which was originally scheduled to run in August before being pushed to January, features a massive "Boy Meets World" reunion, with a dozen original cast members appearing. If this truly is the end for "Girl," at least it will go out on a high note.

New episodes of "Girl Meets World" return to Disney Channel on January 6, 2017. The season three finale airs on January 20, 2017.

Carrie Fisher Will Appear in Two New 'Family Guy' Episodes

After the sudden death of Carrie Fisher, who died this week at the age of 60, many of the actress's upcoming projects were left in limbo. Now, another Fisher appearance in a television series has been confirmed for a posthumous release.

Variety reports that Fisher's voice will be heard in two new, upcoming episodes of animated Fox series "Family Guy," in performances recorded before her death. The actress will once again reprise her recurring role of Angela, the supervisor of Peter Griffin (Seth MacFarlane) at the brewery where he works.

Angela has appeared in 20 episodes of "Family Guy" so far, after Fisher debuted the character back in 2005. The most recent episode to feature her voice aired on December 4. It's unclear when the next two episodes with Fisher are set to premiere, but they're most likely due out sometime in 2017.

MacFarlane tweeted out his condolences after Fisher's passing on Tuesday, calling the actress "smart, funny, talented, [and] surprising," adding, "Family Guy will miss her immensely."

Fisher's work on "Family Guy" is just the latest project that will feature a posthumous performance from the actress, after it was confirmed that she also filmed an upcoming episode of the Amazon series "Catastrophe," in which she played the recurring role of Mia, Rob Delaney's character's mother. Fisher had also completed filming on "Star Wars: Episode VIII" earlier this year; that film is due out in December 2017, though her involvement in the next installment, "Episode IX," has yet to be determined.

Fisher suffered a massive heart attack while on a flight from London to Los Angeles on December 23. She died at a Los Angeles hospital on December 27.

Read Mark Hamill's Touching Tribute to 'Beloved Space Twin' Carrie Fisher

The Midnight Mission Golden Heart Awards Gala - ArrivalsWhen news first broke earlier this week about the death of Carrie Fisher -- "Star Wars" star, successful writer and author, mental health advocate, and all-around badass -- her "Star Wars" castmate Mark Hamill was at a loss for words, writing on Twitter only that he was "devastated." But Hamill was eventually able to collect his thoughts, and has since shared a beautiful tribute to his onscreen sister, one of many heartfelt statements the extended Lucasfilm family has offered in the days since her passing.

What makes Hamill's words stand out in particular, though, is the unique position that he -- and fellow original trilogy costar Harrison Ford -- was in as one of the leads of one of the biggest film franchises of all time, right alongside Fisher. Hamill and Fisher more or less grew up together, under an intense international spotlight, and their onscreen bond extended far offscreen, too.

"She played such a crucial role in my professional and personal life, & both would have been far emptier without her," Hamill wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. "I am grateful for the laughter, the wisdom, the kindness & even the bratty, self-indulgent crap my beloved space-twin gave me through the years."

The actor also called Fisher "irreplaceable," and it's hard to argue with that assessment, both of her as an actress (her future as Leia in upcoming "Star Wars" installments has yet to be determined), as well as a beloved public figure and personal friend to many. We'll miss you, Princess.

Tom Hardy Is Back from the Dead in Intense 'Taboo' Trailer

The new trailer for "Taboo" promises "pure drama," and it looks like the upcoming limited series will deliver.

Starring Tom Hardy, the miniseries follows James Keziah Delaney, a man believed to be dead who returns to London to claim his inheritance. This isn't exactly the return of the prodigal son, though. James finds a dark legacy, a host of enemies, and the threat of death.

The trailer, released Saturday by the BBC, shows what a treacherous course the character has ended up on. There's revenge to be had, not to mention violence and betrayals ahead. We see glimpses of it all in the preview, and let's just say that it is intense.

"Taboo" is created by Steven Knight with Hardy and his father, Chips Hardy, who serves as consulting producer. The series will run for eight episodes, the first of which airs in the U.S. on Jan. 10 on FX.

Rob Kardashian Hospitalized After 'Medical Distress': Report

Rob Kardashian And Blac Chyna At Sky Beach ClubThe Kardashian family got scary news Wednesday: Rob Kardashian was reportedly hospitalized.

Sources tell TMZ that the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star went into "medical distress" after his diabetes "flared up." As a result, he checked himself into the hospital, where he spent Wednesday night. His mother, Kris Jenner, and fiancée, Blac Chyna, reportedly joined him there, arriving separately.

Kardashian was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes in mid-2015, and then hospitalized due to complications with the disease that December. As he revealed to People magazine in August 2016, he'd been neglecting to take his insulin because he "didn't enjoy the routine." However, getting sick was a wake-up call; he said he worked hard to control his health, to the point that he was diabetes-free at the time of the interview.

Sadly, that seems to no longer be the case. TMZ's sources claim that the stress of his relationship with Chyna bas inspired him to overeat, in turn making him extremely ill. He bounced back before, though, so here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

HBO's Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds Documentary Shows 'Unbreakable' Bond

21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Press RoomThe back-to-back deaths of actresses Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher give new meaning to an upcoming HBO documentary on the mother-daughter duo.

While the project, "Bright Lights: Starring Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher," was always intended to tell their story, it will now pay poignant tribute to their unique lives and bond. HBO Documentary Films President Sheila Nevins described the film as "a love story" in an interview with Variety after news of Reynolds's death broke Wednesday, just one day after Fisher herself died.

"Carrie wanted to make 'Bright Lights' for Debbie and Debbie wanted to make it for Carrie," she told the publication. "They just loved each other so much. The bond was just unbreakable."

The film was largely filmed roughly a year ago and centers on their relationship as they dealt with their personal ups and downs. "It's life with Carrie and Debbie," said Nevins. "It's about both of them trying to stand upright, both having their frailties -- age on the one hand and mental illness on the other."

"Bright Lights" was screened at the New York Film Festival in October and in Cannes in May, but an official release date has not been set. Given the tragic turn, Nevins made it clear that HBO will be mindful of in moving forward with its premiere.

Debbie Reynolds Dies 1 Day After Daughter Carrie Fisher's Death

21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Press RoomAs if there haven't been enough celebrity deaths in 2016, the year has claimed one more Hollywood icon.

Actress, singer, and dancer Debbie Reynolds, the mother of the recently deceased Carrie Fisher, was hospitalized Tuesday, Dec. 28, and the news sadly has only gotten worse. Reynolds' son, Todd Fisher, revealed hours later that she died of a stroke, reports TMZ. She was 84.

A triple threat, Reynolds made a name for herself at just 19 years old by starring in the 1952 film "Singin' in the Rain," arguably one of the greatest musicals ever made. Her career was prolific and spanned film, TV, music, and the stage. Some of her notable work includes roles in the movies "Bundle of Joy" and "The Unsinkable Molly Brown," as well as her stint on "The Debbie Reynolds Show" and her pop music album "Debbie."

Reynolds captured attention with her personal life as well as her professional one. Her first marriage, to Eddie Fisher, the father of her two children, ended after his high-profile affair with Elizabeth Taylor. She went on to marry twice more, with both marriages ending in divorce.

"There are very few women from her generation who worked like that, who just kept a career going all her life and raised children and had horrible relationships and lost all her money and got it back again," said Fisher of her mother during a November interview with WHYY's "Fresh Air" host Terry Gross. "She's had an amazing life, and she's someone to admire."

Recently, Reynolds had been struggling with her daughter's death from a heart attack on Dec. 27.

"She spoke to me this morning and said she missed Carrie," said Todd Fisher Tuesday, according to CNN. "She's with Carrie now."

Will 'The Walking Dead' Really Make It to Season 12 (or Even Beyond)?

How long should "The Walking Dead" last, and would you give the same answer today that you would've given last year or the year before?

This week, the Internet dug up some quotes that TWD comic book writer Robert Kirkman dropped into his Letter Hacks column last May. No idea why the quotes are just circulating now, other than that the longevity of the series is always an interesting talking point and fans get bored over the winter break.

In Issue 154, which came out in early May 2016, a fan asked what would happen when the show caught up to the comics, because it seemed to be happening quickly.

Here's Kirkman's response (via Moviepilot):

This came up in a couple letters, and yeah I can see how going from #75 to #100 in 8 episodes may cause some concern. But the show does double back on the comic from time to time, like presenting the Billy and Ben plot in a new way. Plus we're still 54 issues ahead... Or really, 54 and a half since the cliffhanger interrupted the events of #100...

Yeah, look at it this way ... it took us 6 seasons to get to 100. It won't take us 6 years to get to 200 and that will take us to season ... TWELVE. And we'll STILL be ahead of the show at that point.

And if the show is still going strong at season 12 ... well, that would be about the most amazing thing ever ... so we'll all be too busy celebrating to worry about anything.

Season 12! Did he mean it? Kirkman's letter was printed after the Season 6 finale, but long before AMC aired the October Season 7 premiere.

AMC presents "Talking Dead Live" for the premiere of "The Walking Dead"For reference, "Walking Dead" Issue 100 covered Negan's first meeting with our group, when Lucille took Glenn's life. We saw that in the Season 7 premiere. The Season 7 midseason finale, which aired in December and included Spencer's death, was covered in Issue 111. The comic book is currently up to Issue 162, which will be printed January 4, 2017.

The TV show is still about 50 issues behind and a lot happens in those issues, so fans don't really need to worry about a "Game of Thrones" situation where the TV show outpaces the source material. However, fans may need to worry about how much TWD is too much TWD. Is there such a thing?

TV shows rarely stay strong well into the double digits, and Season 7's dip in the ratings (and fan indignation) revealed that the show is not indestructible even with longterm viewers. That said, "The Walking Dead" is still the biggest thing on TV for 18-49 viewers, so AMC probably hopes it does continue to Season 12 and beyond.

How long should the show continued, in your opinion?

'The Exorcist' Fans Send Red Feathers to Fox in Renewal Campaign

It has been two weeks since "The Exorcist" Season 1 ended, with no word yet from Fox on a renewal for Season 2. Fans of the horror series -- aka the "Exorcist Congregation" -- have been holding "Twitter possessions" to get #TheExorcist and #RenewTheExorcist trending worldwide. And now -- starting this Friday, Dec. 30 -- fans are launching a new campaign called "Fear the Feathers," sending red feathers to Fox Television headquarters in Los Angeles in a colorful statement to emphasize the cause. (Red feathers have a symbolic connection to the show's demon, Pazuzu.)

Congregation supporter Tim Childress explained the goal in a press release:

"We are all hoping that Fox sees the potential of this show and looks beyond its somewhat low ratings in its first season. This is a definite niche drama that is so well put together by the cast and crew. It is unlike anything currently on television. The casting is spot on, with a compelling and fresh storyline while respecting the original. Combine that with an incredible score and photography and it's a home run in our books that deserves another go."

Campaigning fans hope that sending red feathers to Fox -- and adding to the list of Congregation hashtags -- will be a "harmless yet powerful statement of their loyalty and dedication to the show."

Details on how fans can help the campaign are posted at Renewtheexorcist.tumblr.com.

Show creator Jeremy Slater told Deadline he knows where he wants to take the story and characters in Season 2, but it remains to be seen if Fox wants the same.

Debbie Reynolds Rushed to ER Day After Daughter's Death

21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Press RoomActress Debbie Reynolds -- Hollywood legend and mother of the late Carrie Fisher -- was rushed to the hospital Wednesday afternoon after suffering a medical emergency, possibly a stroke.

TMZ reports that Reynolds, 84, was at her son Todd Fisher's home in Beverly Hills around 1 p.m., when someone from the house called 911 and reported a possible stroke. E! News reports that Reynolds was rushed to a nearby hospital ER in fair to serious condition.

Family sources told TMZ that -- as you can imagine -- Reynolds has been distraught since her daughter's own medical emergency on Friday, Dec. 23; "Star Wars" actress Carrie Fisher suffered a massive heart attack on her flight from London to Los Angeles. Fisher's family gathered at an L.A.-area hospital in support, but the actress died yesterday morning. She was 60.

Todd Fisher had just shared this photo with his mother and sister:

At this point, there are few details about Debbie Reynolds's condition. We hope any and all updates bring good news. This family has certainly suffered enough for one week.

Carrie Fisher Fans Create Star for Her on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Carrie Fisher left a whole galaxy in mourning, and several grieving fans are now visiting a makeshift star created in her honor on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The "Star Wars" icon died Tuesday at age 60, without ever getting her own official star. So an enterprising fan created one, reading:

CARRIE FISHER
MAY THE FORCE
BE WITH YOU
ALWAYS
HOPE

According to The Hollywood Reporter, visiting fans created a line down Hollywood Boulevard on Wednesday, waiting for their chance to take a photo or leave flowers, candles, cinnamon rolls, or a lightsaber. "This will do until she gets an official one," one visitor told THR. Another told the site, "I'm shocked she doesn't already have a star. But I'm not at all surprised a fan made one for her."

Watch some of the visitors pay their respects:

Fisher was most famous for her role as Princess Leia, but she was also a celebrated writer, author, advocate, and actress in many other films and TV series. Before her Dec. 23 heart attack, she had completed her work in "Star War: Episode VIII," and just recently taped another appearance for the sitcom "Catastrophe." She will also be heard in two upcoming episodes of "Family Guy."

Ryan Reynolds Has a Cameo as Deadpool in 'Logan'

Deadpool and Wolverine, together again?

The Wrap reports that Ryan Reynolds has shot a cameo for the upcoming "Logan" movie." The scene, which was filmed by "Deadpool 2" director David Leitch, will be featured after the credits, rather than within the main part of the movie.

That should somewhat alleviate fan concerns about putting the two characters in the same movie again. They appeared together in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," a pretty terrible movie that "Deadpool" snarkily tweaked. Still, the characters share a long history in the comics, and Reynolds has previously said he wants to make one more Deadpool/Wolverine movie. But Hugh Jackman announced his intention that "Logan" be his final outing.

"What we're gonna have to do is convince Hugh," Reynolds said. "If anything, I'm going to need to do what I can to get my internet friends back on board to help rally another cause down the line."

It might be a lost cause, and not just because of the first movie's negative response. The two franchises have very different tones — "Deadpool" is cheeky, where Wolverine movies are dark — and it's unclear how a team-up movie would fit in the new timeline created in "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

"Logan" takes place in 2024, when mutant births have declined for an unknown reason. An older Wolverine cares for an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart), but had left his superhero days behind him when he's called on to mentor a young mutant girl. The movie opens in theaters March 3.

James Cameron Previews 'Avatar' Theme Park at Disney World

The wondrous world of James Cameron's "Avatar" will soon be a reality for visitors to Disney World.

The theme park has been building a Pandora-inspired attraction for the past three years and is set to open this summer. Disney released a sneak peek at the "Avatar" attraction, showing glimpses at a river ride through a bioluminescent forest and a simulator meant to feel like riding on the flying Banshee creatures.

"I don't know if I can even express how it feels to see something that I imagined in 1995 suddenly made physically made real," said Cameron.

Everything in Pandora land is custom-designed, and the video previews the lifelike plant structures that glow and pulsate when touched. Joe Rohde, a senior VP with Disney Imagineering, said, "I was very skeptical that it was even physically possible to build the world of Pandora. This was a crazy thing to try to do."

Cameron touted the two rides. "There's something pretty amazing at the end of that river ride that you've never seen anything like in your life," he raved. As for the Banshee simulatr, "You're going to plunge, you're going to dive, you're going to see the world flying through it."

It'll be a refresher course for parkgoers before the release of "Avatar 2" in 2018, and three other sequels in following years.

'Broadchurch' Season 3 Teaser Brings Back David Tennant and Olivia Colman For New Mystery

British detective drama "Broadchurch" is returning for a third and final season, and the first teaser trailer previews the return of David Tennant, Olivia Colman, and other major cast members from the first two seasons.

"We have one last story to tell, featuring both familiar faces and new characters," said writer Chris Chibnall. "I hope it's a compelling and emotional farewell to a world and show that means so much to me."

The brief teaser doesn't allude to the plot at all, but fans can expect DI Alec Hardy and DS Ellie Miller to take on a new case, involving sexual assault, in their close-knit Dorset community. The teaser indicates that grieving Latimer parents Beth (Jodie Whittaker) and Mark (Andrew Buchan) are back, as well as Arthur Darvill's vicar Paul Coates.

"Broadchurch" season 3 is set to air sometime in early 2017 on BBC America.

Watch Kevin Spacey Do a Frighteningly Good Impression of Al Pacino

The 39th Annual Kennedy Center HonorsKevin Spacey is an Oscar, Golden Globe, and Tony winner, but he really deserves some kind of award for his amazing celebrity impressions.

The "House of Cards" star showed off maybe his best impression yet last night at the 39th Annual Kennedy Center Honors when he mimicked honoree Al Pacino. Spacey told the audience, including President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, the three steps to doing the "perfect Al Pacino impression."

The second step involves looking surprised. "Al, for some reason, always looks a little surprised," Spacey explained. "If you look at his face, it's like, 'What just happened? The last thing I remember, I was snorting a wheelbarrow full of cocaine in 'Scarface,' and now I'm sitting next to the president. Whoa! How did that happen?"

All joking aside, Spacey paid a warm tribute to his friend and fellow Oscar winner. "Look, the reason that all of us love to do an impersonation of Al Pacino is that he's created characters that are unforgettable, and that's because, for Al Pacino, it's not just business," he said. "It's not just business — it's craft. And I've been fortunate enough to know him a long time and work with him. I adore you. Congratulations, my friend."

'Supergirl' Star Files for Divorce From 'Glee' Costar: Report

"Everybody Wants Some" - 2016 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival"Supergirl" star Melissa Benoist is back to flying solo. According to TMZ, she filed for divorce from her "Glee" co-star Blake Jenner, 24.

Benoist, 28, reportedly cited "irreconcilable differences" in the court documents, and doesn't want either party to have spousal support. She just wants to change her legal name back to Melissa Benoist.

Benoist and Jenner got engaged in 2013 and were reportedly married in March 2015, so the marriage lasted less than two years. They had no children.

Jenner won "The Glee Project" in 2012 and played Ryder Lynn on "Glee" from 2012-2015. Benoist played Marley Rose on "Glee" from 2012-2014. Jenner guest starred in two episodes of "Supergirl" earlier this year, and was recently in the movie "The Edge of Seventeen."

"I love working with him," Benoist told People in March 2016. "We only have fun working together. He's my person to act with. He's my favorite scene partner, always."

Why did they split? A source told Us Weekly, "The distance was an issue, things weren't working. It's amicable and mutual." It's also too bad, but distance is often an issue in Hollywood relationships, when couples film apart for long periods of time.

"Supergirl" Season 2 returns to The CW on January 16, 2017.

Billie Lourd Will Care for Carrie Fisher's Beloved Dog Gary

Premiere Of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" - Red CarpetFor most of us, pets are family; to Carrie Fisher, her dog Gary was one of her children. So it's fitting that Fisher's human daughter -- "Scream Queen" actress Billie Lourd -- will now be taking care of Fisher's 4-year-old French bulldog son.

Family friends told TMZ that Lourd is taking custody of Gary, who was on the London-to-LA plane with Fisher on Dec. 23 when the "Star Wars" icon had her massive heart attack.

FRANCE-CANNES-FILM-FESTIVAL-ENTERTAINMENTLourd is said to have her own French bulldog named Tina, who is already best friends with Gary. A family source told TMZ that Fisher always wanted Lourd to take care of Gary if something happened. So this sounds like the perfect solution to a very imperfect situation.

Gary was Fisher's therapy dog, helping her with her bipolar disorder. The adorable canine went everywhere with her, and became a celebrity in his own right. "His" tweet after her death left fans heartbroken:

Carrie Fisher died Tuesday, Dec. 27 at age 60.

World Premiere Of Marvel's "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" - Red CarpetIn 2016, Black Widow devoured Captain America, Iron Man, Deadpool, Batman, Superman, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Lois Lane, and even Jyn Erso. The girl was hungry!

Scarlett Johansson leads Forbes's list of the year's top-grossing actors, bringing in $1.2 billion at the worldwide box office. The top three -- Johansson, Chris Evans, and Robert Downey Jr. -- all earned their spots from "Captain America: Civil War." Johansson edged out her bros thanks to also starring in "Hail, Caesar!" (Forbes calculated its ranking from 2016 global ticket sales for actors who were top billed/had the most screen time, but it didn't count animated movies where only the actors's voices were used; if Forbes had included animated films, Johansson's roles in "The Jungle Book" and "Sing" would boost her even higher.)

Forbes noted that the list is mostly made up of superhero stars, whether from Marvel or DC -- with Margot Robbie topping DC's contingent. Felicity Jones is the only actor in the top 10 without a link to a comic book character.

Here are the top 10:

1. Scarlett Johansson ($1.2 billion)
2. Chris Evans ($1.15 billion) - tied
2. Robert Downey Jr. ($1.15 billion) - tied
4. Margot Robbie ($1.1 billion)
5. Amy Adams ($1.04 billion)
6. Ben Affleck ($1.02 billion)
7. Henry Cavill ($870 million)
8. Ryan Reynolds ($820 million)
9. Felicity Jones ($805 million)
10. Will Smith ($775 million)

A few months ago, it was revealed that Johansson is Hollywood's highest-grossing actress of all time, thanks again to her roles in "The Avengers." This is not to be confused with highest-paid lists, though. On that front, Johnny Depp remains the most overpaid actor.

'Game of Thrones' Season 7 Has Scenes So Epic They May Be 'Unfilmable'

How are they going to pull that off? John Bradley, who plays Samwell Tarley on "Game of Thrones," seems to have asked himself that question when reading scripts for Season 7. The 2017 season only has seven episodes, as opposed to the usual 10, but Bradley told Digital Spy those seven will have more spectacle than ever, with sequences that he's convinced are "unfilmable."

"But you find that every year. You read it and you think, 'They've really stitched themselves up here, because there's no way they can get this on screen.' And then 10 months later, there it is!"

Season 7 is the penultimate season, with Season 8 also expected to be shorter than usual, and the actors have all talked about how the story is building toward its conclusion. Everything is ramping up for the end, so we won't be surprised to see big, spectacular sequences like the battle of Hardhome, but also with dragons, since Daenerys Targaryen was last seen bringing her three kids across the Narrow Sea.

We know the story will soon end, but we don't know exactly how it will turn out. Bradley took a very Sam-like philosophical stance on the matter, telling Digital Spy:

"It's interesting thinking about the end of 'Game of Thrones.' Because we don't know how it ends. We don't know who wins or who loses. We've got no idea what kind of story we're telling. We don't know if it's an indictment of how bad people can triumph if good men do nothing, or a redemptive story about good triumphing over evil. We just don't know, so that mystery has fed in to everything we've done so far."

All we really know is that "Game of Thrones" is based on George R.R. Martin's series called "A Song of Ice and Fire," which hints to it being Jon + Dany's combined story; Martin has said the ending he has planned for the series is "bittersweet," and reminiscent of "The Lord of the Rings."

Season 7 is expected to finish filming in February for a premiere this summer.

Carrie Fisher's Final Role, in 'Catastrophe,' Shot Week Before Death

Fearful Fans Get Betty White Trending After Carrie Fisher's Death

Betty White Celebrates 93rd Birthday On The Set Of "Hot in Cleveland"As far as we know, Betty White is alive, well, and ready to celebrate her 95th birthday on January 17, 2017. (Pause to pray that this remains true.) But a freaked-out Internet has convinced itself that she is in danger of being 2016's final celebrity victim.

On Tuesday -- the same day Carrie Fisher died and shortly after the Christmas death of George Michael -- a fan started a Go Fund Me page called "Help protect Betty White from 2016." Here's the intro:

"Help 2016 catch these hands if it goes anywhere near Betty White! If she's okay with it I will fly to where ever Betty White is and keep her safe till Jan 1 , 2017. Now , assuming she doesn't want a strange Greek standing [guard] outside her door all monies will be donated to the Spartanburg little theater to help craft new stars of stage and screen to carry mantle of the legends that have left is this year."

So far, $35 has been raised of the $2,000 goal. But the goal is really to make people aware that Betty White is still with us, but we're not sure for how long, so she must be protected at all costs.

"Betty White" started trending on Twitter, earning more than 45,000 tweets, mostly from fans reacting in fear to the fact that "Betty White" was trending. (Twitter is such a strange place.)

Everyone means well, but ... are they just temping 2016? It still has almost a full week left.
