The 'Game of Thrones' World Is 'Getting More and More Extraordinary,' Says Star Iain Glen

FRANCE-ENTERTAINMENT-TELEVISION-MIPCOM"Game of Thrones" may be winding down with only two seasons left, but the fantasy drama series' world will only be more impressive in Season 7.

Iain Glen, who plays Ser Jorah Mormont on the HBO hit series, recently opened up to RadioTimes.com about what we can expect from the upcoming season. He offered assurances of another quality installment (phew), indicating that the team is really taking the time to aim for quality.

"They are taking the length of time it takes to shoot 10 episodes to shoot just seven this year and six next year," Glen said. "I think the scale and size of the set pieces, the world that is being created, it's just getting more and more extraordinary."

The only downside for fans is that the work that goes into this magnificent world means that even a shorter Season 7 can't make up for production being delayed earlier this year. The gap between seasons 6 and 7 will be the longest yet, despite there being three fewer episodes. Meanwhile, Season 8's episode count could be as small as six.

As for what Ser Jorah's long-term future holds, not even Glen knows (or so he says). "I don't know of course if I am going to make the last one," he said. "I am sort of doing a head count, but I think it's certainly under 10 people who were in the original pilot and have been in every season since."

Sadly, it will be months before we get to watch and see for ourselves. "Game of Thrones" Season 7 doesn't premiere till this summer. Alas.
