'Big Bang Theory' Star Johnny Galecki Hints Season 12 Could Be Show's Last

The Big Bang TheoryFans of "The Big Bang Theory" got to celebrate a two-season renewal in March, but sadly, it could have been the show's last one.

While it doesn't sound like that decision has officially been made, star Johnny Galecki put the possibility out there on Saturday. As an executive producer on the upcoming CBS sitcom "Living Biblically," he participated in the show's TCA panel Saturday, and reporters caught up with him afterward with questions about "The Big Bang Theory." It was then that he hinted Season 12 could conclude the sitcom's long and successful run.

"The only manner in which the cast has discussed wrapping [the show] has been that we're all going to be very sad when that day comes," he said (via E! News). "But I think at this point everyone's very comfortable with 12 seasons being a good time to go home and see our families."

Again, Galecki only discussed the possibility of Season 12 being the final season, but fans should know that the end will have to come at some point -- and it could be soon. Although CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl told THR in August that the network wants to go "as long as [it] can," the actors will inevitably be ready to move on eventually. Given that there was talk of Season 10 being the last, we've already been luck to get as much as we have.

"The Big Bang Theory" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
